    Brexit, for once some facts.

TM may be winning: Sources in the Brexit negotiations are confident that European leaders would listen if Mrs May adopted the ‘Jersey model’ in full but Britain would then have to adopt all future EU environmental and and social protections, according to the Times.

that poll was commissioned by the 'People's Vote' campaign, so the usual caveat applies but YouGov has pretty good reputation. One out of 50 leave voters flipped side, that's roughly half the death rate among pensioners in the last 2 years.

    Advice on first E-Bike purchace

that's right in the middle of our customers spread. Most of our bikes would fit the bill: Big Bear, Rio MTB, Rio LS fat bike, Krieger in crossbar frames, Big Bear LS, Santana 3, Santana CD in step through frames. The most stable bikes in all weather conditions are the Santana 3 and Santana CD...

    Upgrade to BBSHD?

sorry, but I am not convinced that CD kits are good for over 500W real output. At that sort of continuous use, the power transmission is going to suffer wear and tear a lot more. I would recommend you go for a direct drive motor. Jim who does motor repairs here rides on one of those DD kits...

can you accept that people may vote with their feelings? We have had a constant stream of fact checks ever since the referendum and many old voters have died, but not many have changed how they would vote if they have to a second time.

just a practice run. don't tell me that politicians find lying difficult. They are economical with the truth practically all the time.

YouGov poll shows voting intention has flipped toward remain in the South West: At the 2016 referendum around 53 per cent of voters in the southwest cast their ballot for Leave while 47 opted Remain, now 53 becomes 49 and 47 becomes 51. the Pound drops because the Dollar and the Euro go up. People buy reserve currencies when the outlook is unstable (US/China tariff war), the Pound is less attractive than the Dollar and the Euro, hence the drop. Nothing to do with brexit at the moment.

83.6% Anti-Dumping Tariff on Chinese E-bike. Where the Market will go?

It's still possible. At present, I set budget £100 per bike for assembly but with the correct tooling and organisation, it should be OK to reduce that to £50 per bike. There is no saving on component costs because shipping frames and wheels and other parts separately increases shipping cost a...

the oldies decide which brexiter will get to be PM, therefore the shape of UK government. JRM is ahead at the moment, seen by the oldies as 'competent'. That YouGov poll that OG posted about contains a lot more info about tory membership.

the disruption is the main element of immediate cost, it's more or less the same at either side of the Channel, the UK may collect a bit more duty from goods purchased from EU producers but have a little more expenses to cope with. That's the main reason for the proposal to extend the transition...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

sensible tactic? by allowing the UK to extend the transition period to as long as it needs to conclude a free trade deal. this comment is from a Bloomberg contributor: Perhaps EU governments have come to think Britain is more trouble than it’s worth, and would now prefer it to go. In that case...

    Regenerative braking?

it is still useful to set the general scene: the expected gain by regenerative braking is illustrated by this equation: Gain = motor efficiency * recuperated proportion of braking energy * proportion of braking Typically: Gain = 0.6 * 0.8 * 0.1 = 4.8% It is of course only possible in direct...
