Advice on change of drive type

Just treat it like a normal unpowered bike. When you stop pedalling, progress stops. So to slow down you just stop pedalling and apply your brakes the required amount, just as you would on a normal bike. Basically just forget you've got the mid motor, it's only there to make you seem much...

    Greetings from a returning cyclist

A belated welcome to the forum Jimbo, hope your conversion goes well. Upright with sensible handlebars is ideal for e-bikes, safer, and the motor power takes care of any added wind resistance. .

True! It's nearly six months since your last post, with that long absence you're not a police officer are you? :D .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Quite sure. The Americans took two years over their water recycling plant, costing $400 million. On completion it was too large for the allocated space in the main module and took hours to recycle a single litre, far too slow. The Russians completed to job in 6 months and it's worked fine...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

When the Americans miserably failed to design a water recycling plant for the ISS, they had to ask the Russians, who'd built the main module, to provide an enlarged version of the one they used in their Mir space station. They should have asked Thames Water, they'd been doing it for a century...

But that's with a very complicated setup of some 120 individual trade agreements which took seven years to create, and it's still not complete. Also they have no access to services, and that would really hurt us. .

No, they were actually English. Today's 21st century Irishmen are as likely to be in management. Not their normal job though, one is our handyman who does casual building work for our self-run premises management company. The other a lad who works casually for him but is in building college...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I like the African red teas too, but when I served it to a couple of men who were digging a trench for me, they wondered what sort it was and definitely didn't want a second helping! You'll gather they weren't Irish. .

    cyclamatic powerplus issue

Connect onto the two wires coming from the battery Ian, before the controller. It's only to see what the battery voltage drops to. Fully charged voltage for a nominal 36 volt battery is 42 volts, the minimum safe voltage is 32 volts. If the battery you've borrowed is fully charged and you...

    E-bike trailers help

There's rather a lot in the way on the left hand side of that bike model, so I think it would have to be offered up to the bike to see if there's enough room to clamp it onto the two frame tubes. It looks debateable. Here's an enlargement I've made of that part of the bike: And here's where...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

That will be Jeremy and John then. They'll try to invest our way out of difficulties with borrowed money to expand the economy. Within Brexit that will fail and send us towards bankruptcy. So like last time, the IMF will come in to take over the management of the economy, putting us all into...

    cyclamatic powerplus issue

There's a lot more on changing the battery voltage in this thread, but no definite answer. It depends on the low voltage cutoff (LVC) and how it behaves. .

As my previous reply in "Comments" Ian, these are the symptoms of the battery voltage collapsing under load, due to one or more defective or very low cells. Switch off and on and then it runs ok until the load shuts it down again. Ok on the flat when the load is lower. I'm not familiar with...

Will type approved speed pedelecs wake the police up

It's certainly possible. Probably the scarcity of such registered bikes makes it more theoretical for most of us. I scarcely see any pedelecs around, despite being in a London borough, so my chance of seeing a registered one is minimal. .

Oh dear, the artists impression of th ships we'll supply look very much like the notorious type 45 destroyer. Proven capability to break down in every ocean in the world. We towed one all the way back from Australia, what were the Aussies think of when they placed that order? .

I don't think it's serious in London any more though, the Jewish background of so many of our taxi drivers has long been thought of as a norm. And since well over half of all London's population isn't white British born and often from very far away, they tend not to have the same baggage of...
