Buying and riding an S-Pedelec in the UK.

Because they are avoiding the restrictions by breaking the law of course. If they complied witn the law and carried a rear number plate with all the restrictions that implies, they wouldn't be as popular, as in Germany and the Netherlands. .

Buying and riding an S-Pedelec in the UK.

As ever I stress the need to keep a sense of perspective. In truth very few people want an S pedelec. In Germany where they were invented long ago and where they don't have all these draconian rules, only 1% of e-bike sales are S pedelecs. It's similar in the Netherlands, the only other EU...

    German e-bike market success

I did in the sense that I knew the slump was about to arrive. So after hanging on to the last minute I made a property deal at the start of October 2007, just before the property price slump started. That left me almost £30k better off than if I'd not forecast it. I don't subscribe to the...

That the one where they poison people they don't like, or use drones to assassinate them, or just carpet bomb them into oblivion. Meanwhile they exploit poor peoples to grow produce and make clothes for the West at rock bottom prices to ensure they stay subservient in abject poverty. To cap...

    Final mile eBike solution

None in this case, since where I am and in my circumstances two to three miles is a very viable walk, contrary to the challenge above from someone knowing nothing of my circumstance. That and a bit more are also the sort of distance I might use an ordinary folding bike for, avoiding the...

    Final mile eBike solution

I've clicked other for the following reasons: Own ebike for the last part brings the problems of carrying the bike, where to put the bike during the day, theft of bike, riding in wet or freezing weather in normal car driving clothes, possibly where to charge battery on occasions. A hire scheme...

How to hide/camouflage the 750w on the motor?

It's sold as an L1e-A with number plate mount etc. So the certificate of conformity is useless since the OP wishes to use it without the mandatory registration. Hence him wanting to change the hub to read 250 watts. .

chainset is 46 tooth likely to help compared with a 52

That tended to be hidden on mine since both have the powerful eZee motor which gives enough help then. I wouldn't be keen on having a Megarange on an unpowered bike. .

How to hide/camouflage the 750w on the motor?

It isn't illegal in the EU or UK, this is what the company say on their site: Falls into the L1e-A electric bike category That is what was once known as the Low Powered Moped class, bicycle based, restricted to 25 kph (15.5mph), up to 1000 watts rating. Usage is subject to the country it's...

chainset is 46 tooth likely to help compared with a 52

I've got exactly that Megarange on both my last e-bikes and am happy with them. I showed it on my smaller wheel bike in a previous post on this link. The big gear gap doesn't matter since it's only on the odd really steep hill that bottom gear is used. Most riding is on the remaining five...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

This seems very much more likely, given the characteristics and the police officer's and Skripal's recovery, a very complete one in the case of Yulia and the officer. The betting is her father will also be perfectly ok. .
