    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

Asian hornets take prey on the wing decapitating it and removing the wings legs to cart away the thorax & abdomen. The two hornets are different in size & markings, I hope in your case you are wrong Eddie and you have identified it incorrectly. However I know you are observant & have a keen...

Woman fighting for life after 'e-bike' hit-and-run in east London

CPS probably still weighing up the evidence, even if bike is legal etc, there's still a hit and run offence to deal with and leaving the scene of an accident. Still early days yet.

    Adding different ampages

Ah in batteries equates to range/mileage and is the over capacity of said battery. The individual cells have an amp discharge rating which is a rating they can supply X by how many cells are linked in parallel. If the parallel rating isn't high enough for the controller load asked then battery...

    New controller and lcd

It is the P1 setting I expect to make sure the speed reading is near as correct as can be, I assume you are using a D/D hub. You can alter the P1 setting up or down to match the speed read out given by a gps or cycle computer.

    New controller and lcd

Learning wires are to get the phase sequnce correct and all so for it to spin in the correct direction, once this is achieved disconnect the learn wiring. P2 is the wheel speed pulse it detects how many magnets the sensor passes to for real time odo speed reading. Usally P2 is 1 or 6 to work...

    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

You can't dissuade them they are prolific killers of all flying insects, once they become established then a simple drowning killing large wasp trap is one of the only means. Nests are usually fairly localised. A guy in Portugal has devised a method of killing out the nest with the help of...

    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

Mesh for the trap base can be made from Ali car repair mesh, it's use is to prevent drowning of native insects that may get caught. They can be simply released preventing collateral damage, the idea at present is not to make a out and out killing trap but to sustain life and trapping.

    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

I use a popular diy trap ( made from 2ltr water bottle) for monitoring, currently monitoring and capture for official identification is the current method used. Though normal wasp traps can be used, placement is about head height in the sun. Best to place the trap if one is caught into the...

    Li-ion Charger recommendations

I am not, In post 21 you stated: As I mentioned the 25R cell is a pucker 20a rated cell and very few 10ah batteries will have these cells inside and more likely will have far inferior/crappier cells then these.

    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

Mostly they are quite docile away from the nest which typically is high up in the canopy however they may also construct nests in hedges or outbuildings, they are very defensive of nests and will see off anything within 5 - 10m range. They will attack in numbers if threatened and stings are...

    ASIAN HORNET ALERT.

As some of you know, as well as a pedelecer I am also an amateur/hobby beekeeper. Currently our honey bees and almost every other living insect are about to become severely threatened following several incursions of the veracious Asian hornet (common name) or Vespa velutina (latin name), to...

25R is one of the top cells with a 20a rating, I doubt that many common 10ah batteries would have these inside.

That's why we suggest just buying the bare hub motor and get a LBS to do 2x lace & true it in to a rim for you using 14g spokes, the cost should be a lot cheaper. Speak to your local LBS first to see if they will do it and a price, shouldn't be to much. Don't forget on top of the price is...

Building a small (36v/8ah) bottle battery with BMS

10s is the easy option but I don't like easy and want 13s, so have ordered a 1000ml /80mm bottle from AliEx. Same style as d8veh used with the neat charge socket hidden in the lid cap. Also plan on mounting a panel mount fuse at the bottom for easy access. Smallest 13s 30a bms I have found is...

Akiema 24v from Topbikekit though is only 32h & 328rpm. What size rim and terrain as you need to select the correct rpm for you requirements. Up to 250/270rpm for hills and 26"+ rims or 328rpm for smaller rims. For no hills then 328rpm will be ok in any rim. GBK100R 24v 201rpm or 328rpm from...

    Li-ion Charger recommendations

Balancing in the main is about 41.5 - 41.8v depending on the bms software. If not balance charging good cells should remain in check but also will be down to how well the battery has been welded/connected together. A full charge every 4 - 6 uses should make sure all is well.

4 screws to separate, remove rubber feet bungs to access. I only drilled the top part with no electronics to prevent damage, two at each end either side of cable entry's for through venting and 6 - 8 on top exposing heat sink and 2 on the side. You can also driil one the above the voltage...

Building a small (36v/8ah) bottle battery with BMS

I have found an 80mm dia 1000ml ali bottle on AliEx and a couple on UK sites, need to buy one to see if internal length is enough for 3 tiers of cells. I reckon I need about 205/210mm internal space, bottles overall length is approx. 260mm. For the bottom plate d8veh had a new one made up 3D, I...
