The idiot still insists it shouldn't have been cancelled. It was a crackpot scheme initiated by show biz luvvies and a bunch of similarly minded wasters. .

    RECLAIM YOUR NAME

Codswallop, this is all nonsense, the courts will deal with anyone on the basis of the name that they use, which often isn't their birth certificate name. Proof enough is the many prisoners sentenced under the names they declared and have been living with, different from their birth registered...

Sounds good. Although all the things we are doing individually are a drop in the ocean, they're all making local breathing conditions better and doing less harm to the local natural world. So all worthwhile and the more we do, the more others will follow to make an even bigger difference. .

No action yet of course until the power is in place and I have an e-car. Then the Suzuki will go, it's a low emission petrol 7 year old with very low mileage. After the last MOT when I inquired of the mechanic "OK?", he said with a shrug "It's a new car", so that will cause no sold on...

I haven't suggested it's simple and largely agree with much of what you've posted, but to infer that e-cars are a dead duck as you and some others seem to be doing is ridiculous. Yes of course there is no hope of them taking over the market, the infrastructure alone will prevent that, but they...

Not factories, we have numerous street and car park chargers in London, and many retailers have them. All IKEAs have both rapid and fast chargers for example. I'll come back to you on charging when flat living when I have more time. .

And there are equivalent older Zoe's and Leafs. Honestly, do I really have to lead you by the nose? E-cars are now no dearer than i.c cars to buy and run, unless a new one kept short term when depreciation is higher. They need to be kept for a few years to be good value. .

Still totally irrelevant to my original reply to Oyster. Anyway most e-car charging is done while at work or overnight when charge durations don't matter, and there's also the option of rapid chargers that charge to 80% in 30 minutes, a tea or coffee break. .

And in what way does that justify you saying the congestion charge concession was only for wealthy Tesla owners? That was rubbish, especially as Tesla's new model 3 has been delayed and would take far longer to get than a Renault Zoe. No-one pays those prices, unless they are chumps, and I...

They have major difficulty in tight right angle corners, which central London is full of, slowed to a crawl, losing gantry pole contact etc. Then with a queue of cars right behind, unable to get the pole out to re-engage pole contacts, I've seen two way traffic brought to a halt for many...

They aren't capable at all in many modern traffic situations, that's why they were universally scrapped. I know, I lived with them being Bournemouth's only buses for many years until they became impossible. .

Simply not true. The popular Renault Zoe electric, an ideal urban car, is around £12,000 new from dealers, no dearer than a similar i.c. hatchback and cheaper than many, plus battery rental at circa £50 a month, probably what would be spent in petrol daily commuting and leisure mileage...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think a proven dud. Switzerland did it first many decades ago but abandoned it, and the fact that this one is the only one in the world says it all. They have to stop at every stop, passengers or not, and have to wait there while the flywheel speeds up. We have quite enough trying to...

We've long ago pedestrianised Croydon's centre but it's still often choked with people and activity, so no failure here so far, despite having one of the country's largest out of town retail parks on Purley Way. There are warning signs though, a new Westfield retail development repeatedly...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Exactly! We've waited years for national governments to act, repeatedly pushing them to do so but almost nothing has happened. So in the end the only way was to act ourselves since we were suffering far too much, including a very real and measured cost in lives. Or governments aren't what...

I don't understand why you are persisting with this line of argument. It has to start somewhere and we've made that start. If we wait for elsewhere to act it will never happen, and that's why you are advocating do nothing. Instead of nagging me, nag the other places that aren't acting, that...

    Battery use in snow temperatures

Don't worry, especially if you are regularly using the bike. In use like all electrical devices the battery generates heat, warming itself up inside. Therefore it's a good idea in very cold weather to recharge after use, rather than waiting until the battery gets very cold which impedes the...

But you can't say how that can happen, can you, so you are advocating doing nothing. Theory solves nothing, our actions do. What you are saying about the congestion charge is nonsense as I've already shown, but I'll try again with what it's done in the years it's been in place: 1) It has...
