The end of BionX? - An interesting post on ES by Justin Lemire-Elmore

I think it purports to be, but as that linked page says, the reliability is yet to be established. I've no idea why those members wanted to change, whether it was on performance or reliability. .

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

We don't need to worry about this new law if it comes into force since it will very rarely be used, as the equivalent law for drivers shows. There are a few laws that are extremely difficult to prove so the Crown Prosecution Service are very reluctant to ever use them. Among them are such...

The end of BionX? - An interesting post on ES by Justin Lemire-Elmore

Other than the SwissDrive mentioned by AK, there's only the Alber NeoDrive DD motor from Europe, also known under other names such as Xion by Derby Cycles. You'll find information on both of these on this translated page. .

    1.5V 3000mah Rechargeable AA batteries

I have previously tried the alkaline based 1.5 volt rechargeable cells but found them very short lived, so certainly wouldn't try again. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Akin to the way Jean-Claude Juncker called Trump stupid without actually saying so. On hearing of Trumps tariff anouncement he remarked that the EU would respond, adding "we can be that stupid". He just left "too" off the end, clever, especially from someone whose native language isn't English. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

No chance, by convention North is always at the top and South below as low as can be. Which also coincides with the Unionist view of their world. ;) .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Here it is Dave: I did wonder whether Brexit would eliminate the ADT on e-bikes. In fact I wondered if it would delete ADT on all currently loaded products. But within the current Trade Bill going through the house is a new regulator, known as the TRA (Trade Remedies Authority),this would...

How i can increase max speed of my bike?

Any difficulty could be that of a prosecutor trying to show dynamic proof of over 48 volts in use under power in practical conditions, but that's purely academic since it will never happen. As with the ability of motors to greatly exceed 250 watts, EN15194 would no doubt be granted for these...

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

Yes I tend to agree, but I just wanted to draw attention to how easy it is for a bike rider to kill since those could just as easily happen on a road with the rider at the common 20/25 mph speed. So even responsible riders do have something to worry about, given how aimlessly and unpredictably...

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

While I accept that many little used bikes are ill maintained, those regularly used like commuting bikes are usually much better and will stop in a fraction of the space that any fixie rider can achieve. Apart from any other factor any form of rear brake on a bike is far outperformed by a front...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I've considered it Tommie. A pre-referendum long time ago I posted that a way to tempt Eire to rejoin the UK would be to offer it lead nation status of the UK with the UK parliament sitting in Dublin. Politicians love of power might just prove enough for acceptance and we in London would be...

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

Sadly it is very easy. Years ago there was a case that also gained great notoriety when a Cornish man riding down a pavement slope hit a young girl emerging from her garden gate and killed her. There have been many more since, this Google link has four additional cases from the top. Bikes and...

The end of BionX? - An interesting post on ES by Justin Lemire-Elmore

Our member in Australia with three Bionx equipped bikes that I mentioned in my post above also seemed to have much more knowledge of the systems and software upgrades than most e-bike owners. Trek adopting them on their bikes for the general public certainly seemed to be a mistake. .

    Death by dangerous riding introduced

The key to this was the bike not having a front brake, indeed no effective brake since a fixie is no substitute. That's idiotic when riding on public roads filled with other users. Hopefully the other chumps who do this will have sat up, taken notice and fitted a front brake. Riding without...

How i can increase max speed of my bike?

The manufacturer has fitted a 48 volt specified battery in accordance with the law and that is all the law will be concerned with, not transient possibilities. And anyway, the voltage will dip and not be in excess after charging the moment the bike is in use with power applied, and that is the...

Almost certainly yes. What's special is that it only operates in one direction. Basically they tell us what to do, we do it. Probably, since unlike other EU countries we don't manufacture in the USA to avoid tariffs. .

How i can increase max speed of my bike?

Your batteries were never illegal Col. The fact that when fully charged some could register slightly over the legal permitted figure was irrelevant. In law it is only the specification voltage that counts. This legal position is similar to that of maximum legal motor assist power where only...
