    Sidestand stress on frame?

I fitted dual stands, centre and prop, on one bike for convenience. The prop stand clamped tight on one one tube and did no damage in 11 years of regular use. Here's photos:

That could change though, the old 60 amp fused 12 kW feed to homes has been replaced by 100 amp 22 kW new installation supplies now. They don't have to be tethered lead though. Today's home chargers can be untethered so users can use their own lead that they have in their car. .

    Charging electric cars

It's taking a while. The type one that Nissan use is on the way out in favour of most using type 2, but the Americans and some others are pushing for the CCS type to be standard. .

I thought the same, but there's no doubt reducing the annual service to just £99 is a welcome reduction. Franchised dealers are usually dearer. .

    Tesla rubbish

I do to, for use working in the local nature reserve, but they are ok. It's the swing hinged pocket knife that locks the blade open that is illegal. .

    Tesla rubbish

Isn't that beyond vandal access with the locked bonnet, underside battery, and very limited ground clearance on these e-cars? I've never heard of a single case of this in following the e-car subject this decade. .

    Tesla rubbish

There isn't any for disconnecting the charge cable, I daresay the public points rely on internal fusing/RCDs etc for safety. Here in the UK it can still be an offence with good reason for having it, since the law requires that a knife has to be securely wrapped when in public and not during...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The UK declared the war and lost it at Dunkirk. That would have been the end, but for the scale of US and Russian assistance. Yes there was much appreciated help from many others, but they alone wouldn't have been enough. .

    Charging electric cars

Both the Leaf and the Zoe now come with the home charger installation free, a big step forward. And the Leaf charger is now 6.6 kWh as standard, the 3.3 kWh one is no longer supplied. .

    Tesla rubbish

In a busy charge point place? Not to mention grinding into the up to 120 kW live circuit. The plug in points are well recessed anyway, so little room to get an angle grinder in. With around ten years experience the makers have this well thought out and have taken care of the possibilities. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We lost the second world war and would have been overrun if the Americans and Russians hadn't rescued us from that fate. .

I assume you mean unplug from the charging point? That's not possible, it's locked in place until released using the remote card to unlock it or open the door lock. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Justice for the poor way the UK has always treated the EU. We've been asking for it for years and are rightly being put in our place at last. And just what comes before a fall? :D .

We're speaking of build quality though, not innovation, and that has been too often crap, fact. Certain very unnecessary space shuttle disasters come to mind. .

    Charging electric cars

Yes, so many e-car owners say this, and if I can get the electricity laid on for charging I hope to join them soon. I remarked earlier that e-cars are beguiling, and the near silence is a very big part of that. .

    Charging electric cars

Much better of course, but I'm doing short runs with a petrol engine in London and nearby home counties congestion. I'm betting your local conditions up north are very different. Coincidentally on the rare long runs I do, my same car also returns 47 mpg when driving moderately. Shows the huge...

    Charging electric cars

Perhaps not so bad for many though, bearing in mind: Battery rental from 9.5 to 12 pence per mile, depending on annual mileage, so let's take that worst case. Now add the worst case electricity cost of 5 pence per mile. (Minimum 3 miles per kWh at 15 pence per unit), so total 17 pence per...

    Charging electric cars

They seem to be expecting a high rate of failure within 8 years with higher mileages, judging by those charges At £59 per month for 4500 miles they collect £5664, just over the £5000 to buy the battery and not much for financing over 8 years. But at £99 for 10500 miles they collect £9504...

No, £45 for 4500 miles is a penny a mile (100 pence in the pound) .
