    Brexit, for once some facts.

Indeed, there are many examples of retainers being paid to those who might be called upon. In consultancy it's commonplace. .

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

Not really, he envisages them being able to reproduce themselves and used for that purpose to achieve worldwide distribution of themselves. In his world there will be no larger machines or even structures, we'll meet holographically so presumably no need for much major infrastructure. His...

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

A current radio program is in the futurist vein of this subject, James Burke prediction is that in about 50 years we'll all have our own nano factory making everything we need, from food through clothing to hardware, all using completely free resources. According to him none of us will need to...

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

These misunderstand what I've posted, which is that machines will not understand our irrationality due to their dedication to rationality and logic. That they can and indeed do accidentally create irrational responses isn't in any way an ability to understand another's. We indeed are the proof...

    Time for a new battery

Chargers often run quite hot, so as it's been charging ok to 42 volts there's no need to change if for that reason alone. .

    Time for a new battery

It's a 36 volt battery, these read 42 volts when fully charged and of course require a charger that can charge to that. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Perhaps this needs to be taken to law at the highest level on this basis: If the contract's only guarantee is for zero hours of work, it is a contract for nothing and therefore not a contract at all. Ergo, making such a contract is unlawful misrepresentation, by virtue of it's pretence of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

If I may I'll add a second reason, to avoid their social responsibility. In a society like ours an employer has a responsibility for the welfare of their employees, and under some circumstances a good employer extends that to the employee's dependent family. These parasitic companies want to...

But that's a change of subject, not our machines beating us. Even if one believes it, I don't. .

The realm of fantasy of course, where people get easily carried away to. Note, despite all the talk we haven't even achieved anything like AI yet and are not remotely close to it . . .

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

But they were rational, reached by superior ability. I keep having to repeat this but it seems it's just not being grasped. It's our unpredictably irrational nature that can win simply because machines will never operate that way, their advance always being logical and rational. That means...

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

Indeed, I agree all of those are possible but still believe humans will survive them all. Not in large numbers perhaps, but our irrational biological natures will always produce some perverse reactions that the machines will not understand or even detect or realise possible. We only have to...

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

There is a sense in which I agree with this. We will spread machines to other planets outside of our own solar system, and broadcast to the universe But not our physical selves. Time and distance are against us for much too far an extent and the objective not worthwhile. .

Is this the begining of the rise of the Machines?

But they see that in reverse, themselves as intelligent politicians leading a public lacking common sense. So they introduce laws and regulations to compensate for that perception of the public inadequacy. They see their authority for doing that deriving from that commonsense lacking public...
