    New Bike Questions

Sounds like age has set in or capacity is on the wane, could be both. Voltage is healthy and pack is pretty well balanced though doesn't always mean a battery is full of beans.

Q128C, PSW controller and throttle problem

PAS is the best a bout ebike power control, 5 levels of varying amp power, throttle is ok for now and then. P1 224 or 212 verify the best match with gps read out as P1 affects speed reading, however I find the main issue if incorrect appears to affect motor sync /timing when using PAS.

    Rear Hub power lead repair

If it's a hub kit from Oxydrive then Oxygen won't be involved and I doubt Andrew at Oxydrive went further then just supplying complete kits or kit parts.

8 magnets is the magnet count inside the hub motor. For C settings once you have gone thru the P settings, press 1 & 3 together again to for the advanced C settings, before making any changes write down the 12 - 14 different settings shown on the lcd. Like the P settings toggle thru all 12 or...

    Xiongda YTW-06 has arrived

The P1 setting appears near correct, the gear ratio of the YTW06 is 17:5 x 8 magnets = 140.

P1 may need playing with depending on the hubs internal gear ratio and magnets inside. Awol & d8veh both have the small YTW06 so may know a suitable figure that works for them.

    EBIKE BATTERIES.?

Even though this might be a wasteful effort using old laptop cells the knowledge gained is worth it, esp with wiring a BMS and then being able to fault find issues with future batteries. Certainly a worthwhile small project to keep the brain cells ticking over and for later if you decide to use...

    Xiongda YTW-06 has arrived

No real problem though with more magnets the PAS will be smoother and more responsive with a less irregular signal. The KT's are programmed to read 5, 8, 10 or 12 magnet pulses so four may even be why you are seeing a fluctuating speed reading.

Does the hub have an internal speed sensor ? If not then you will need an external speed sensor with spoke magnet for a stable readout. The intermittent speed reading might be down to the your LCD P2 setting and P1 if it is wrong. Let is know what they are set to.

Best place for battery for e bike conversion

The exact cells used aren't stated except being Samsung for the 14.5ah battery, it is possible that they are 29E cells. Also you have to look at the rpm available as some kits vary with motor speed from 270 - 320 rpm. Overall the kits are good value, hub wise they are a pretty much the same...

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

Talking of fair weather a short 12/13 miler this morning to see the wife who is caring for her ailing gran & and the Sb50c was in top form and performing well. A respectable 18/19 mph along the slightly bumpy Worth Way which at the mo is nice dry and hard from the colder dry conditions, the...

    Badass Box v3.4

Strangely on some items SW is no different them the rest of us and likes economy / value on small replaceable items. 20 cells for under £3 is a great bargain if they are genuine .

hi All Battery Cell Layout question

I agree with post #28 if you are able to use a longer continuous strips and remove some plastic away if needed. In the second pic cells marked 1,2,3 & 3 if you want to you could link cell 1 with one long strip and will aslo triangulate that last cell to discharge more evenly. On 2 & 3 you can...

hi All Battery Cell Layout question

The cell can is all negative from bottom to the top rim with only the top centre being positive, the only bit that stops a potential short when welding the strip/bus bar on the positive end is the pvc shrink wrap. Adding an extra insulator to the positive end just ensures a extra bot of safety...

    Battery output problem

Good news that you managed to get charge back in to them, now to see how long or if they can keep a charge. If you charge the pack up then disconnect the bms sense wires you can monitor the pack and may get an idea if the cells are just losing voltage themselves if left to stand for a few a...
