Direct drive hubs add about 5.5 - 6kg to a wheel and being gear less will be a pain /hardwork to pedal unpowered. Also they are usually high speed wound for rpm so not so good for steep hills unless you use higher voltage and high amps to get more out of them.
A conversion might be worth...
Not heard of that one before, where do you live.
Probably an lcd issue and a replacement most likely would solve it, may be some one who is near you can connect their's up to confirm.
Try disconnecting the lcd display's connection and then replug in to see if it clears.
For permanent lights without adding/or additional wiring to consider then the newer smarter KT controllers are good in that respect, they have a prewired light and horn connector.
Sounds about right.
PAS and peddling draws fewer amps unless of course you are in turbo or top assist level, whereas generally a fully open throttle will draw high amps consistently as it only has one level.
Have you ruled out a throttle or pas sensor issue .
Disconnect the throttle and then see if pas works and vice a versa . You need to try them separately to rule out any conflict between them.
When the LVC comes into play and their isn't enough power/volts to allow the motor to work the lights will still shine. Also after a few minutes the voltage stabilises though often not enough for driver power but will be plenty left to power lights for riding with no pas or throttle.
The good news is it's a KT so if a replacement is needed then that shouldn't pose a problem.
Do you have brake cut off's fitted
If so disconnect them and then try the pas and throttle.
If after trying the above and nothing has changed leave the brakes disconnected and then do the same with the...
Hello JJ, glad you like your new toy enjoy it while you can as at some stage in the future the impulse drive may well give you issues. A lot of issues appear at about the 2k miles mark, fair play to 50C they do have good CS when issues arise.
An alternative kit to consider is a Bafang BBS01B 250W.
I have an original BBS01 although now on it's 2nd controller it propels me approx. 13 st on my MTB on the road at up to 24mph when getting to A 2 B, road conditions need to be fairly windless and flat though.
mfj197 uses one on a hybrid...
d8veh beat me to it.
Pedal ease generally are to be steered clear off their CS is very poor with little or no way to get hold of them. It's a shame people don't do their home work first before wasting money. They are very good at taking your money, then when you in a spot they are non existent.
You could try wrapping the led in a small plastic bag and rice to see if it will draw out any moisture, other wise it's as d8veh has said eventually things will dry out.
It's perceiving there amp rating capability as no rating is given.
The blue is for 14/16 gauge wire, 16 awg is rated for about 22a and 14/32a.
Don't be tempted to use a smaller colour joint for larger wire as the amp rating will be lower and less solder in the joint will mean a less secure...
