EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

I don't think the Commision is that corrupt.

range completly naff with 13.4ah battery

Your battery is not brilliant but OK. The 100% SOC (SOC = state of charge, 100% SOC: battery is full) corresponds to 41.9V (as measured by your voltmeter), the 0% SOC will be 31.9V on your battery. 34.3V corresponds to 100% - (41.9 - 34.3) * 10% = 24% SOC. Your average battery consumption is...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

I have reviewed a dozen recent ADD cases, you can google these up if you like, China is not always the target. It seems to me that the Commision's anti-dumping decisions are fair and they follow the guidelines: The investigation must show that: there is dumping by the exporting producers in...

The view of a reluctant remainer: https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-10-23/the-harder-brexit-gets-the-more-necessary-it-seems For many British commentators, in fact, the coming disruption means this was never a matter of weighing long-term pros and cons of EU membership: There was no...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

I don't think this action of the EBMA will succeed. But if it does, I will simply ask my suppliers to supply in kits, not assembled and invoice the kits as parts.

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

following a complaint to the Commission, the Commision can decide to start a registration period. Its purpose is to warn importers that they may have to pay retroactively ADD. This threat is usually determined when a provisional ADD is imposed. So: 1. EBMA makes a complaint, in which they will...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

They should only ask the conservative membership. The opinion of rest of the country doesn't count for much at the moment. As long as the electorate is still roughly divided in the middle, the hard brexiters can spoil any trade deal by sinking their own government.

I don't think there is much import duty on Tern bikes, they are made in Taiwan. A lot of Chinese bikes don't attract ADD. They pay standard 14% import duty. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/329662/AD+Measure+1926.pdf

it seems today that the hard brexiteers have struck back. TM said that if there is no deal, there won't be any transition. This may seem logical but TM plays a very dangerous game here. this news increases significantly the risk of no deal brexit.

Why does it have to be someone who is in favour of no deal to be interested in WTO duty rates? I am interested because it is my business, WTO model is a possibility. I choose not to panic. If I import cheeses from France, then I would think about making cheeses here.

there are always exceptions. However, there is no indication that e-bikes are protected goods. You should check with HMRC to be sure.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

most manufactured goods produced in advanced economies are unprotected. So it's fair to assume that e-bikes made in the EU or China are not protected goods.

the flat rate is 2.7% for most manufactured goods between members where the market for that product is fully functioning (where the producers do not get state subsidies).

more or less same as now. the UK and EU will have to notify WTO members any changes to their schedules, in the case of the UK, new schedules that are based on current trading conditions. Trading with the EU will probably be based on most favoured nations. E-bikes from the EU would probably...

as AKW said, we'll muddle through the mess. BTW, hard brexit is dead. Even if TM resigns, I don't think the hard brexiteers among the PCP are strong enough to take over. The tories have always been scared of the right wing press, nothing new there, but when push come to shove, the only way for...
