Carrera Crossfire-e hydraulic front break issue

check your QR skewer first. This problem comes often as a result of the QR not properly located in the fork's jaws. Loosen it and see if the rotor is properly centered. If it's not, then you may need to recentre the caliper. But before you do that, you should check that both pistons move equally...

it should work OK with all 8-speed cassettes but a picture of the derailleur would help us to be sure.

Rear wheel cracked, advice on a stronger wheel please

it could well be that the cause of rim splitting is down to your tyres being under-inflated for your weight. For 18st, I would recommend 50 PSI on 1.95" tyres. The higher air pressure will spread the load more quickly and keeps the rim farther from the pot holes.

    Hello! New and need advice!

the minimum rider's input is 25%, turbo assist adds the rest (75%). The upper limit of assistance depends on the motor of your bike. The top rated motor is Bosch CX, 20A controller which can send 720W to the motor, in addition to rider's input of 250W, you can climb pretty steep hills with...

I reckon at under 12% gradient, CD bikes don't do any better than a good geared hub assuming the same current draw.

yes, 50 PSI is good, right in the middle of the range. Don't let the tyres go below 40 PSI for long period. The recommended pressure is marked on the sidewall of the tyres, for kevlar tyres, it is usually 40-60 PSI. We inflate the tyres to 45 PSI before packing.

probably by the end of the week. You can use the current post until then. There is a safety line marked at 22cm on the tube, the line must.be completely inside the seat tube. The 350mm post carries a tiny risk of damaging the frame when the part inside the seat tube is between 15cm and 13cm.

the reed switch in those brakes are very sensitive (as they should be). The brake piston is magnetic, when it moves, it activates the switch. If you want to adjust the free stroke on the lever, you may need to adjust the brake switch point afterward.

that is a distorsion of what I said. People may find themselves in a situation where they continue to pedal and use their brakes to slow down a bit, eg a descent, going round a large bend, overtaking etc. A difference between a bike fitted with sensored brakes and one with un-sensored brakes is...

I don't think you can adjust the cutoff point with that one. The normal factory made Tektro hydraulic e-brakes have a reed switch that you adjust with an 8mm spanner.

that thudbuster is hell a lot more useful. Still too heavy for my liking (570g). I'd rather pay for better suspension.

and did you see? the price does not include the lever to operate the thing. I remember at the last Redbridge event, a certain member of the forum did not realize how strongly the damned thing goes up! I was warned just in time before I rode that same bike. In my case, I was to move the saddle...

don't worry about paying for a new post. The new batch of Rios being made at the moment is fitted with the longer 400mm post. It's only this batch that has 350mm post. I have ordered a sample in the UK just to make sure that it fits properly, before I'll get one sent to you. You only have to...

Volusia, You seat pin seems quite high up in the picture. The Rio seat post is 350mm x 30mm. You need at least 15cm inside the seat tube, leaving about 20cm over the top of the seat tube. Please bear it in mind. I have ordered a sample this 400mm x 30mm post for test...
