    Brexit, for once some facts.

I pointed out the high percentage (I think about 45%) of people who need help in our society. Although we are a rich country, we have already difficulty to cover the needs of the 45% that don't work. Any government will need to make sure that the working population (the remaining 55%) can be as...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Productivity gain is a result of modern equipment, strong workforce and favourable conditions. Strong workforce attracts new factories, not the other way round.

didn't you actually dismiss a few reasons that I gave because I am on the side of the idiots?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

higher productivity usually means more robots. Although we are one of the richest countries, the percentage of economically inactive population is already too high (I think it's about 45% for British citizens) and keeps rising, in or out of the EU. The rise of inactive population may be less...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There are a lot of unknowns in brexit, that is why not many have changed their mind beside our MPs. Whenever someone gives you a reason why brexit is good for some, you jump at their throat.

on made roads, it does feel steadier and copes better with potholes. BTW, you can fit 3" road tyres to them instead of 4" fat tyres.

There is no guarantee either way, in or out. You could as well say good jobs move to Eastern Europe and we get low skilled EU immigrants in return. We have to be more competitive, that means good education and training.

They are very different in feel. You have to test ride them to know which one you prefer.

there is no need for pious hope. You can base your argument on economics. Demand, supply, unit of labour cost, production capacity, inward investment. After we have a deal with the EU, we'll grow at faster pace out than in.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Some sectors will be adversely affected before a deal with the EU is concluded but they will recover quickly after that. The consensus is brexit will be beneficial in the long term. You don't believe so? find an economist that does not believe that in 20 years time, the UK will do better outside...

of course many of them are and amazon are here to stay but brexit will reduce competition from EU countries. Are you disputing this as well?

The enlighten us with examples that the EU benefits a large number of small businesses that don't trade in other countries. I have lost tenders before, stick to the reason I have given and don't try to link this example some personal issues - that is the kind of tactics that I will never use...

That Richard has benefited from that order is not the issue. The issue is: would brexit benefit about 5 millions small companies that don't sell to other EU countries because it will reduce competition from EU suppliers? I say it would. Are you saying it won't?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

oldtom, I don't need to get personal to make a point. The example I gave is to show how brexit can benefit small companies that do not sell to other countries because competition costs small firms proportionally more than large ones. You, on the other hand, descend to personal attacks. You have...

it's nothing special. As I said, it's public information. I did not want to help you to find the company that won but I never stopped you to find out for yourself. The point I made is about brexit, not about the specifics of the order.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Growth usually comes from immigration. More people, more demand, more workers. The sharper slope on the red curve is the result of pessimism before brexit, depressing the Pound, then after brexit, stability returns, causing stronger uplift due to pent up demand and delayed investments. If the...
