so tell me which local company won it? you may find that 'local' company was not even formed when the tender was required.

there is and has always been a degree of bullying and intimidation but I think a lot of MPs changed their mind too, not just their stance. It sounds more principled to say that they respect the will of the people that they have simply changed side. The fact remains that about 400 constituencies...

yes. That is to me a sign that democracy is working. Pollsters have until now adjusted their polls to fit previous results, to reflect the average participation of different age groups and social classes. Often, they find that poor, young and less educated people participate much less in...

Surprisingly, although I think you are wrong, I am less affected by reading your insults against parliament than when you insult ordinary people that you have never met or heard of. May be I identify myself one with the plebs.

That would be too easy or OG and oldtom. No, the idiots and insane must remain idiotic and insane so that OG and oldtom can continue to feel intellectually superior.

I am pretty certain that if it were not for the enlarged EU, there wouldn't be enough support to leave.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

brexit is the will of this parliament. Are you going to call parliament insane and idiotic too? The point is, brexit is not terminal. Sooner or later, it will come to a point where we as a nation will have to take a decision, either be a wholehearted, fully participant member in the European...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Of course I do not want to be thought a fool, but as far as jumping on the wagon is concerned, I can't see what can be achieved by exaggeration. I regard your recent posts on benefits for the economically inactive EU immigrants and running like lemmings over a cliff edge as exaggerations. This...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

OG, 52% voted for brexit and they are not insane. It's you who shut your own eyes to other people's point of view. You are of course entitled to your view, but why do you call people who disagree with you idiots or insane? Would you like to be called idiot or insane yourself? Have you noticed I...

don't I know it! We are helping our daughter to buy a flat in Paris and the exchange rate makes me cry. The point is, for ordinary people, the pain is no where as bad as remainers predicted and there won't be a cliff edge for the vast majority.

The graph is published by SocialEurope. You have to convert from Euro to Pound to reflect the UK's consumers' point of view. The effect of currency conversion will add about 7% to 9% to the plot from July 2016 onward. Thanks to devaluation, we avoided the recession altogether. No recession, no...

    Is an ebike for me?

Question: which battery position is the best for a commuting bike? I reckon in-frame and lockable is best. You have to fold the bike to access the lock. This is the 12AH in-frame battery in the Woosh Zephyr. Charging port, on/off switch and 5V USB power outlet.

Typical forecast: the economy goes through a shock in 2017 then recovers in 2018 and grows after that. Graph from: SocialEurope. we usually do better than forecast. Also, growth is proportional to the number of immigrants. I reckon every 200,000 immigrants add 1% to growth.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

We'll get to know roughly the direction of the new relationship and the size of the divorce bill by the end of the year. The boffins can then work out where we are going. Remainers talk a lot about the dangers that do not affect the vast majority of people who voted for brexit like the cliff...

When they can't take your battery, they'll nick things like LCD, saddle and post, lights, wheels and even skewers. That's why commuter bikes need to have functional components and not flashy.

They are the most recent forecasts from the Bank of England, as you can see, dated Feb 2017. I always fact check everything I post. That's the simplest way not to be hoodwinked by propaganda.

I copy here the BoE's forecast, source: ONS We are heading for growth between 2.3% +/- 2%. Where is the cliff edge that you are so worried about? Your lack of objectivity is evident.

There is no need to look for a guarantee. We have projections from both camps, by very learned people. They differ only on projected economic growth in the region of 1%-2% which will recover when future governments resolve the current uncertainty. There won't be a recession and EU immigrants...

OG, I remain unconvinced by your argument. All the problems you cited are current and created by/connected to tory policies. You and oldtom seem to lack objectivity and analytical skills so instead of proposing a reasoned argument, you two indulge in trading insults.
