    Noisy Bafang 250 W 24 V motor

when water gets into the motor, it will mix with grease and dirt into a black sludge. I usually clean and regrease. If the noise does not go away then you may have to replace the 4 ball bearings. I use Molykote PG-21 list of recommended grease/lubricant used in the Bafang motors at factory...

We unplugged the lead to our Q128H (a kit bought from bmsbattery) motor and plugged it into the GSM. It climbed like a young goat with bmsbattery's 48V 20A controller. So much so that on the Bali, I have to reduce the controller from 48V to 36V and 20A to 18A.

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

the Fatboy uses 26" fat tyres. Minimum tyre width is 2.6". Not yet. We keep 17HL batteries because of the BBS02 kits we sell. 60NM on the Rio MTB 80NM on the Fat Boy You are not that far from Southend! a trip to the seaside would be a treat :)

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

We could discuss whether the this year we'll see more fat bikes or should fat bikes be fitted with mudguards and rack. We could talk about the choice of components. Why use the Bafang SWX02 instead of the Bafang MaxDrive or a DD motor? we could compare it against its rivals. etc. I supply the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the problem I see is that the advantages of the Single Market seem intuitive enough until you actually try to pin down numbers to support the argument. Take unemployment for example, I can't say for sure that the single market reduces or increases unemployment. The EU negotiates trade deals on...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the BBC has a story on the report by Civitas 'Single Market benefit 'largely imaginary' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39356664 The report itself seems credible enough. http://www.civitas.org.uk/content/files/mythandparadox.pdf Essentially, the author argues that before we joined the EU...

I'd love to bring in a direct drive bike like the Grace One that Cephalotus mentioned in the other thread. The problem is the compulsory insurance and wear of helmet would put 90% of potential customers off. Cephalotus has pointed out that in Germany, s-pedelecs account for a tiny market share...

Hello Chainring, I am not at all ashamed of showing that the bike is electric, it's more about esthetics, secure attachment and not attracting the wrong sort of attention.

Hello Chainring, yes, that's slow progress. Hopefully the Rio MTB will find favour with customers who look for a 100% secure attachment for the battery while keeping the electrics fairly stealthy.

Oxygen S-Cross CB -hunt for the shunt

They are labelled RSA, RSB and RSC, presumably RS stands for Resistor Sensor. They are current sensing resistors. R002 has a nominal resistance of 0.002 Ohm. Basically, they produce an inductance to limit the current to a preset value.

Hello John, Did you get the controller I posted yesterday? The Bafang RM G06 has same power and torque, between the SWX02 and the BPM, but a bit lighter than the BPM and is made for fat bikes (wider dropout 170mm-175mm instead of 135mm for normal bikes).

Fatboy's wheel size: 26" Fatboy weighs 24.5kgs-25kgs depending how much air you put in the tyres and the tyres. The 3" tyres are lighter. The 13AH battery is a the lightest (a bit under 3kgs), the 17AH heaviest (a bit over 3kgs) - there is not much difference. Fatboy's throttle: you can run at...

    HUB MOTOR CAPABILITY

This issue (the efficiency curve) is often overlooked by a lot of members, resulting in buying the wrong kit for the job. Perhaps you should start a new thread.

I can see from your earlier posts than your average speed is over 15mph. In my experience, at less than 22mph, geared hub motors are difficult to beat, they give good torque, low energy consumption and low cost. However, all the geared hub motors are limited by the maximum RPM that the motor is...

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

we have already bikes with narrower tyres, higher capacity HL battery and long mudguards (Bali, Bermuda, Karoo). The Rio bikes are orientated toward going off-roads, hence the more capable suspension fork on the Rio MTB or large tyres on the Fatboy. The Rio MTB is meant to be lightweight and...
