And did you ride it home from the train station afterwards? :) .

    First Volkswagen, now Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi Motors have admitted falsifying fuel consumption figures on some of their models and some models they produce for Nissan. It seems some 600,000 cars are affected. Wouldn't it be terrible if e-bike makers exaggerated ranges. ;) .

    Electric bike experience so far

You've got it right Daniel, those who call "cheating" simply have no idea what an e-bike is. It's good to learn the pleasure you're getting, something we all fully understand. .

    Oxygen E-Mate rear spoke issues.

As Paul says, get the wheel rebuilt by a skilled wheel builder and your troubles will be over. Persistent spoke breakage is invariably caused by a poor wheel build and almost never by rider abuse. Atmosphere really ought to take some advice on this subject before blaming owners and wrongly...

    Parking on the pavement

Same on my estate Phill. In my section of 99 properties with 99 garages, less than 30 are in use for cars. A few are unlawfully* let to builders etc and the rest have junk in them. * In breach of lease. . .

    2016 Woosh Karoo hub drive

Although I did look after the Agattu most of the time, it was mid winter and I did ride it through a big dip in a flooded road with its Panasonic unit fully immersed, getting wet myself in the process. I did know these units are fully waterproof so it was a calculated risk. As it happens...

    2016 Woosh Karoo hub drive

50cycles did exactly the same for me when the new Kalkhoff Agattu first arrived here, having the bike for around a week. Subsequently another supplier wanted the same service but I declined since I didn't want to start spending lots of time reviewing due to other interests. .

Failed on my first big hill

Mine wasn't all 2 stroke since after entering the army for national service I signed on and did six years. For over three of them I was a trials team member with a Matchless G3L. Not ideal, but great for reliable low speed very rough stuff. .

Failed on my first big hill

I'm not missing the point and have already posted to you before that for offroad there are some sound arguments for CD. But the vast majority of e-bikers ride on the roads as I do, occasionally taking to a fairly smooth cycle path and never doing the rough stuff. That's what I'm posting about. .

Failed on my first big hill

From memory the speed was lower, more like slogging at 9mph or so and the gradient not steep. That Torq couldn't do steep anyway. At 12 mph the efficiency would have been nearer to optimum and I was certainly not at that. The battery was almost empty at the end which didn't matter since it...

Failed on my first big hill

That was the 32cc upgraded one though, the original 26cc one was black painted. It was actually a DKW design that was never built, like so many German designs it may have been seized as war reparations. Not totally a DKW original though, since they derived the design from the Sachs Saxonette...

Failed on my first big hill

And there's your best of both worlds bike on this link, a hub motor doing CD duty. :) A CD unit in a hub would be quite a challenge, possible though, Cyclemaster fashion chain driving a large hubshell sprocket. .

Failed on my first big hill

No, only the long term battery test, since that bike was most suited to avoiding pedalling. I wanted to make sure the motor did almost everything to really punish the battery. The temperature check long climb was on my 700c wheel bike, using the identical motor/controller/battery...

10 days new and 10 years old. Happy me !

It was around £3000 at one point, very high for long ago. The later redesigned Dolphin version in the USA was similarly high priced, $3500 in 2010. .

Failed on my first big hill

First the range increase is of no importance since I can and sometimes do have a second battery with me. I've even ridden for hours over very long distances with three batteries, one in each pannier. And I've never had an issue with motor overheating. During it's life in 2008 I carried out a...
