    Leaving the EU

The living standards we've enjoyed since we joined the EU, that's just one of the benefits of membership. Most of our population have enjoyed a far higher standard of living since than we enjoyed prior to 1973. As I pointed out earlier, back in the 1950s and 1960s, our homes were bare compared...

    Leaving the EU

Not scare stories, tariff barriers will apply as they do for all outsiders, and they can be harsh. For example China suffers from a 48.5% tarriff on bicycles exported into the EU. We wouldn't suffer levels as high as that, but since the mainland EU is almost 7 times our size, you can easily...

That would mean a full motorcycle licence, registration, number plate and insurance for an e-bike. Oh, and in the UK, hanging, prison for gays and on the Isle of Man flogging of juveniles with a birch. Ah, the good old days (not :(). .

Fortunately the two upgrades have been written into UK law since 1983, 15 mph in 1988 and 15.5 mph and 250 watts in 2015. .

But since they've made no provision for SVA on self build EAPCs with throttles and they are not subject to type approval, at present they are not really ruled upon. As the DfT themselves have admitted, these scenarios are only their understanding of the law and would need to be ruled upon by...

I agree if it were ruled upon in some way as with boats, but at present there's no legal UK ruling of any sort on self builds with regard to Single Vehicle Approval. Since with e-bikes EU law also has nothing to say on the matter within each country's boundaries, there can be no legal ruling...

    Leaving the EU

But being in EFTA to be able to trade with the the EU still means having to accept almost all EU law! Norway has the whole package for example, including even pedelec law with no throttles, and Switzerland abides by EU rulings for cross border trading though not a member. So where is this...

No, only the twist and go ones, since it's a type approval requirement. Pedelecs are exempted from type approval so not subject to this measure. I believe German national law has long required automatic headlights on pedelecs and possibly all bicycles, certainly the first Kalhoff's here had...

Only until January 2018, from then new ones will have to comply with L1e-A type approval rules. No, if legal for an individual it can be legally sold second hand. However, the DfT haven't clearly ruled on SVA so we have no idea of the status of self builds. At present there are no rules for...

    Leaving the EU

It isn't so much a relaxed attitude in other countries, more a misinterpretation by the UK. EU law is just that, applying across the EU but not necessarily within any member country. For example, our politicians have often moaned about the European Court of Human Rights, but EU law itself says...

    Leaving the EU

As a member of the judiciary, you know that it's necessary to examine the facts before reaching a judgement, yet with regard to this posting about the EU you have clearly failed to do that. This is very obviously not true, here's some examples of UK restrictiveness pertinent to this forum...

    Can I bodge it ?

If it was only a glueing job between perfect surfaces, there is. But in this sort of case the glue/cement is also having to act as a filler, and it's not strong enough to withstand leg strength pressure without compressing and therefore loosening the bond. .

    Can I bodge it ?

Cheapest and best is those new cranks plus buying new pedals Highpath can repair your existing cranks by fitting inserts, but even that costs £45 for the pair and you'd still have to buy the pedals. .

    CENTINEL WHEEL -kickstarter

Yes I read that and understand that if differentially geared the nmotors would swap between torque or speed advantage at differing road speeds. But it still seems that both motors are always able to run together to meet the 360 watt spec. The 250 watt e-bikes struggled in the US market and...
