2009 tpowabyke x6 ls battery plug wiring diagram/information? urgent :)

Evening all,
I've just bought a powabyke x6 ls,from eBay, for my wife to try ebiking. Unfortunately, the seller has just messaged that the battery won't take a charge, having not been used since June. We've managed to adjust the price accordingly, but I've arranged to collect it tomorrow. I'd like to test it with my 8fun 9ah
bottle battery, but don't want to blowup either bike or battery:

Can anyone let me know whether the bike's power lead has the same kind of (aircraft?) Connector as mine &, if so, what pins carry what volts - In other words, can I connect one to t'other?

First check that the Powabyke is 36v. I have it at the back of my mind that some were 24v. Anybody know for sure?

I don't know about the connectors, but, as long as you can find a way of connecting, it'll work. Take special care in making sure that you get your + and - the right way round otherwise something will go pop.

Thanks d8veh - Sorry I haven't replied before but, what with the journey to collect the bike, then the grandaughters needing stabilizers fitted, etc. etc. Saturday was gone

It seems the battery May be serviceable, but the charger's kaput, so I may have done Allright in the end.

Before I bodge a lead to connect my 8fun charger to the powabyke battery, I'd be grateful if you could cast some wisdom my way....

My charger is 42.0v, 1.35amp. rated output ; the powabyke one is 42.5v, 1.5amp: So I assume it will be ok to use mine.

The thing I'm a tad dubious about is that my charger has a coaxial plug (1+ : 1- ) but the powabyke charger has 3 pins (2+ : 1- )
Should it be ok to bridge the positives?

You can get a jack socket from Maplins for about £1. Cut the connector off the Powabyke one and solder to the jack socket. Then you have an adapter so that you can use your charger for both batteries.

In the three pin connector, only the furthest apart ones are used. Check the battery socket with a meter to make sure that you get the wires the right way round.

I did what I should have done in the first place & opened-up the powabyke charger's output plug; it's a 3-pin xlr with only 2 pins connected

Luckily, I have several in my bits box, from when I used to do sound for madras & I found a co-ax socket lurking in there too

The result is none too elegant, but it'll do the job.
