There had been a lot of chatter on German Pedelec about these new 25Ah Panasonic batterys...it seems the 18Ah not enough for some..

I got an email from extra energy and it was briefly mentioned but no real content:

I will try a link to the thread but these never seem to work for me:confused:

Google Translate

The previous batteries and Impulse ones from BMZ-Derby use 18650 cells in series parallel arrays. If this uses the same cell size as is likely, it will be 7s 8p totalling 56 cells of 3000 or 3100 mAh. That seems to be about the limit in this case size with currently available cells.

The 18 Ah will be the same formation with 2250mAh cells.

Their 36 volt Impulse battery uses 50 cells in a 10s 5p array, the 11 Ah using 2250 mAh cells, the 15 Ah using 3000 mAh cells.

Any idea's on pricing?
Interesting through as its could be the answer for those who like to tour.

I'd still prefer though to just have a super quick charge of an hour on a smaller battery. This way it would give you an oppertunity to have some luch and a quick top up.

Wonder what the shelf life and weight would be of said battery...

The Bosch battery and 4.2 amp charger: 90% charge in 1.5 hrs. (100% 2.5 hrs)

The 50 cell battery with the same case etc weighs 2.95 kilos, so this will be almost exactly 3 kilos, light for such a high capacity.

I can't confirm this definitely, but I've been given to understand that they use the same "sleep mode" as the Panasonic made batteries, meaning very long shelf life. I've no idea on price.

That's much better than the Bosch then Scott.

The Bosch rate for full charge is 3.2 Ah per charge hour, that Agattu and Inpulse rate is 4 Ah per charge hour.

Their 90% rate will similarly be much better.

These "premium" 36 v Kalkhoff bikes are a darn site more expensive then Bosh bikes and a lot heavier as well.....

'tis less cold, but still too cold for me. I'm very much a fair weather cyclist now I'm much older, feeling the cold too much. I need one of kitchenman's cowlings with air-con!
