Fantastic news!!! Black is red and red is black?!?!? Bizarre!

I haven't seen THAT for a while!

A good few years ago, when we had red, black and green for live, neutral and earth, if you got anything from America, if it had a three-core cable they would be green, white and black. Green was earth OK, but black was live and white was neutral. I think they still have that system, although you hardly ever see it over here, as unless you bring an appliance in 'privately' you aren't allowed to import anything non-approved.

The Germans were even worse - they had red, black and grey, but RED was earth, and grey was live. That could make your eyes water the first time you discovered it the hard way, I can tell you!

Had a test ride tonight and it worked perfectly..

Thanks all for your help.

Now on to tidying up the wiring, fixing pedelec mode, wiring brake cut outs, then onto servicing - the suspension is rock solid at the moment.

Apologies to Rus for jumping in on your thread, I'll start a new one if I get stuck with any of the above.

BTW I've found a source for 20mm 20A fuses....and its about 1 mile from ETS in Camden. A small electrical shop in Angel Islington...
