Fitted a 3 speed switch this afternoon and connected everything up X1 X2 and GND etc into my Infineon EB209 board, Programmed everything up 80% 100% 120% switched it on and wound it up, Tried the switch and nothing changes ? Tried programming a couple of times with the switch in different positions and still nothing ? What am i doing wrong ? I did solder the GND to the board GND 7 (checking before for continuity on the main GND) but just seen the 3 speed switch has a metal ring under the plastic, should of i be GND'ing to the bike ?....Anyway's I'm lost now so need some help folk's, Thanks.....

How is your board marked out?

Theres an 'infineon' word doc somewhere on ES that details how to wire the switch, essentially

Select Program 0:Switch Mode

Then with nothing switched to ground the Speed 2% setting is selected

Switch pad X1 to ground the Speed 1% setting is selected
Switch pad X2 to ground the Speed 3% setting is selected

Additionally another speed setting can be used:
Switch pad SL to ground the Limit Speed% setting is selected

I tried the 120% setting and it made no difference for me so I just use 100%

You might be better posting on ES.
The BMSBattery KU controllers might work the same. On the switch, the middle (guess ground) to the left (guess X1) is low power. Middle to right (guess X2) is high power. None connected is medium power. You don't have to earth the switch.
Can you really tell the difference between 80% and 120%? It might be worth trying 20%, 70% and 120% first to see if there's a difference, and the reprogramming afterwards.

The program is the confussing bit ? I have in the program "Toggle or Select" but the drop down menu say's select "Switch" but there is no switch mode within the program XPD, just "Toggle or Select" D8veh That's a great idea, i will report back....Thanks guy's

NRG, I will have to hunt that down, Thanks..

Nice one Thanks NRG, But I think it's more of a sofware issue rather than hardware double checked all wiring and continuity on the switch and everything is getting the green light but my sofware XPD doesn't seem to have a "Switch mode" just toggle or select ? I'm trying to find another software, I had a go at downloading the Keywin Parameter sofware (mikes addition with installer) but the Zip doesn't want to open, just says unexpected end of archive and then corrupt file or something so i'm abit stuffed at the mo ???...

I'll let you know if i get it sorted....

Hmmmm, I use the parameter designer s/w...theres a couple of versions of it and I had to try them all in order to find one that worked!

Just to clear this up, I'm now sorted on the 3 speed switch front!!!

My EB 209 board from factory has the Speed limit funtion (SL) to GND........ And is enabled, so will only read this signal...

A quick snip at the back of the board to break the connection between SL and GND and AWSOME STUFF!!! I have a 3 speed switch, Well Happy.. Thanks guy's for the help and input.

Settings now  My aim is to lower speed for the road...

Set to speed one 80% = too fast 70%= getting there 60% perfect on speed one, But it will cut in and out is this normal?? I don't like that as it feels like i'm going to break something...

So tried 55% which is good but again feels on and off, but not as bad as 60%, Would try 50% but it's now raining (Big Girly, i know)

Anyway i feel these three speed switches are not liked by controllers or motors just feels like they are fighting for that power which is there but they can't have it or is it just me ?..

At one point on speed one the motor was groaning and complaining as if it was going into saturation....

The motor is very happy at 80% 24mph 100% 29mph 120% 31mph but on the road speed one is not what i want would like it to be around 18 mph but requires 55% which as above it's not happy with (groaning/on and off etc)....amps pulling around 25amps wonder if i should lower this ?... Any experiences on low speeds on 3 speed switches would be nice.....

I dont think its anything to do with it being a switch, all the % setting does is scale the throttle / Pedelec voltage so you would get the same effect if you simply held the throttle at a position that gave 55%...the noise I would say is down to the current, I think you will find if you lower it the motor will complain less....also IME the current setting is about 5amps too optimistic, so if you set 25 it more like 30...try 18 and see how it goes...

The throttle isn't that great on my controller as i have complained before, sort of on or off (half twist model)...So was kinda guessing it wasn't going to be that great on the switch, I think i have good settings now on 70,100,120% (motor doesn't complain)....

When you talking current are you talking lower the Phase ?, atm it's sitting at 51amps, which in the real world gives me around 25/6amps on the Turnigy, 19 amps cruising...
