9000 bikes came through my area today, I was out 'playing' on my usual Sunday route and ended up in the middle of the freshnlo Pedal for Scotland 2013 run. I was only amongst it for about 6 or 7 miles but it was impressive.

There were males and females of all ages on the run which is 47 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh.

I even saw a couple of Bromptons and a recumbent. Apart from mine I didn't see any other e-bikes but there may have been some somewhere.

Jim, the tour of Britain comes to Scotland on Tuesday. Jedburgh to Dumfries,160 kms. It looks like it travels through some lovely scottish scenery on that route.
My wife wants to see Cavendish perform his sprint finish, every race lately seems dissappointing for him

The good thing about today's event was it was normal people from children of about 8 years to oldies looking like in their 70s. BTW you'd have been proud of the Kudos passing ALL of them on the hill up out of Linlithgow. Mind you when the road levelled out the faster ones beat me, even though for a spell I was hitting 20mph on the flat. To be fair though, there was a young blonde lycra clad lady at that point whose slipstream I was in. When I showed my wife my video she laughed at that point and swore she could hear me puffing like I was having a stroke.
There's no fool like and old one she reckons:)

On a serious point though, that was the first time I've followed others so close and it does indeed break the wind a bit.

Ah, there's nothing quite like it; the years fall away, don't they :)
