A short ride but a good one

I've just been out for a swift 15 miles up and down the coast and what an agreeable time I had.

Roadworks put me on the main carriageway of Wearmouth Bridge in Sunderland, so I deployed dongle power and hammered across at 20mph+, which saved me being boosted from behind by the buses.

A stiff headwind on the way out gave me a bit of exercise and took the noise of the motor away.

The Rose ran sweet as a nut, just one of those rides when the bike performed a treat.

I passed a few words with a mountain biker who was battling the wind.

Even he didn't spoil my mood, he said he has a mate with an ebike and thinks they are great.

I made a swift stop at Morrisons to visit the cashpoint, get some cigars and something for tea - a couple of heavily reduced price sandwiches.

Only thing I couldn't do was top the car up with diesel for work tomorrow.

There were a few surfers/kite surfers on the North Sea who I watched for a few minutes while enjoying a coffee and a smoke.

The home run was wind assisted and over all too soon.

Not a challenging ride by any means, quite the reverse in comparison to my recent excursions with Croxden in the Peak District and the tour in Yorkshire.

But what my little jaunt does prove is you don't need to do loads of miles at top speed up and down dale to have a good time.

It was quite draughty down here yesterday too; from the North for a change.
I nipped over to Newquay for a bit of shopping & the ride home was an overcoat warmer wirh the wind up my tail - One of those rare times riding in almost still air :)
32 miles for some bits I could have bought locally - But I simply enjoy riding my Ezee-powered "moped" so much that I generally end up doing about 100 miles most weeks.
Only use the van for trips outside a 20 mile radius.
Makes me feel quite smug
