I had one that would not see the satellite when underneath trees. As there are a lot of trees where I ride I would loose 20% of the known miles. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm assuming this gadget uses only GPS to track the device:

How accurate are these compared to wheel magnet type odometers?
Good point mate. I ride through a lot of wooded areas, so I guess this gadget ain't for meI had one that would not see the satellite when underneath trees. As there are a lot of trees where I ride I would loose 20% of the known miles.
It was returned.
Google it and read the reviews.. they are really good . I have the 510 which locks on to sats within a few seconds and doesn't lose them. Although I haven't tried it in a forest yet. The older garmins tended to be a bit problematic locking on to sats but the newer ones are much better. Thanks for the heads up.

I have the Edge 20 which doesn't have Ants which the 25 has other wise its the same, GPS and the Russian Glasnoss is used. Courses can be down loaded to follow other wise you just select ride and it will record distance, elevation, speed etc, etc, battery lasts for upto about 5.5 hrs. The Edge Touring works very well even with tree/woodlands, I recently got a demo used one off fleabay for £78 and added a UK sd maps card for £12, I was unable to down load Garmins maps as my broadband is woefully slow. Thanks for the heads up.

3 year warranty with Aldi though and my experience says with regular use it won't last 3 years, as usually the cable fails! Aldi price could ultimately be free..£40.00 for a 4 cree light!
You would have to be daft enough to pay that.

.
I bought the 3 year warranty by shopping at Aldi. I will keep it, thanks.
So from "experience", you have bought a product expecting it to fail? By anyone's standard, that is an odd thing to do!3 year warranty with Aldi though and my experience says with regular use it won't last 3 years, as usually the cable fails! Aldi price could ultimately be free..
I have spent substantially more for branded lights in the past and they did fail outside the 12 month warranty plus replacement parts were not available to purchase. I won't be doing that again. So from "experience", you have bought a product expecting it to fail? By anyone's standard, that is an odd thing to do!
For an extra £10.00- £20.00 you could have bought a decent light that won't fail at the worst possible moment, and would be an altogether better light. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/what-lights-do-you-use.22724/
Paying £40.00 for a low quality 4 Cree torch is madness. For road use, 4 Cree is too bright in respect of other road users, and for off road use the spot beam is too concentrated and is of limited use.
For £40.00 you could have bought two of them, had enough left over for pint of beer, and saved on the fuel money when it comes time to return the duff one, along with the wasted time and effort. But I guess that you wouldn't then have had the weird satisfaction of going back to store and getting something for nothing.
My son and I each bought one of these lights from China. His cable/charger failed after a short time, but it was so easy to fix by adding a battery holder and 4 rechargeable batteries. mine failed due to poor soldering on the battery (again easy to fix) and since then both have worked fine for a few years now. Mine is used daily for daylight safety and has never given any trouble since the resoldering.I have spent substantially more for branded lights in the past and they did fail outside the 12 month warranty plus replacement parts were not available to purchase. I intend to use it as a day time light on road, so I do not believe it to be too bright. I will not be riding off road at night. If it fails at daytime I am back to no light but hey it is daytime!
If it does fail inside 3 years, yes I get my money back - what is wrong with that?
I can cycle to Aldi so there is no expense, just a good excuse to get the bike out.
Your reasoning/opinion is not the only valid one out there..
Or, you could get one of these and charge as you go.i have a MOON 250 LUMENS which is good.
I looked at the aldi lights, but wasn't impressed with the quality of manufacture...which is unusual for aldi...usually great products...
got the moon from all terrain cycles. charges from a usb port or in my case an old mobile phone charger
