Spot on!I've always assumed the reason why ebike manufacturers use brake levers by the likes of Tektro, Wuxing and Promax, was that they produce units with the integrated cut out switches required for use on pedelecs. Unless there's adoption of cable mounted (in-line) pressure switches or magnetic reed switches, then the choice of lever will be limited.
However Shimano have now decided to put a toe into the EB market and we look forward to sampling their wares.
I would imagine they will not be targeting high end models immediately and would expect to see the lower end "Tournay" style to start of with. Shimano will eventually, like Tektro offer a full range of products enabling all electric bike manufacturers to buy their products.
