( we go back a bit in time now)
In April this year I posted some questions about Winora/Haibike and the physical similarities between the two saying I was considering the Winora as it seemed very good value. Based on the encouraging remarks I got I continued to explore bikes on European websites and found some that really appealed. At this point I was also receiving some suggestions and supporting info from a couple of the dealers that provide advice here (Thanks to you all)and trying out various bikes. Thanks to Electric Cycle Centre Penrith amongst others.

I was very taken by what Dave W at Electrifying Cycles had to say, particularly given that he was sufficiently impartial to suggest products that he did not exclusively sell and supported suggestions with both positive and negative features against the brief I had set myself. After further searching and discussion I came across the 2013 AVE SH5 and was very taken with it.This was the bike for me I decided. Only it's not in the UK anywhere yet....

Well it arrived this week and I am going through the familiarisation process and taking spins around the block so I can set it up to suit. As you can see from the pic it is a 'naked' bike which gives me a bit of freedom on what to bolt onto it but fair to say I am really pleased. As you can see below its VERY similar to my original 'bike likes' of the Winora and Haibike

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU must go to DW at Electrifying for his excellent communication and his brokering of the final import and sale by EBCO. Excellent support has been a feature of all responses I have had to serious queries on this site and that has given me the confidence to make a big purchase of my first E-bike.

I will post some pictures and reviews over the next few weeks but thanks again everyone:D

Right off out on my bike again!

That is impressive, the one I saw had the Bosch drive underslung. What spec battery do you get with it?
