Has anyone bought or thinking of buying a Batribike Quartz folder. Looking at the specs and photographs, it appears to be ok and substantially cheaper than similar models. Any thoughts (good or bad) anyone?

The range claims on the technical tab are ridiculous for around 260 Wh.
I'd be rather wary of any bike supplier claiming such nonsense.
They appear to be fairly standard cheapish Chinese folders, the biggest question marks with these always being the battery quality, whether battery replacements will be available in a year or so and the battery price.

I can confirm the validity of the ranges quoted for the Batribike Quartz as I personally distance check all our models before we quote any figures.
The Quartz has three power assist modes, high, medium and low.
On high with a (75kg rider) thats me with extra weights added! I did 28 miles
On medium assistance and gently pedalling I did 100 miles - I know this seems a lot - it took me two days, and I was really pleased to have some lovely weather.
I did not test the distance on low mode, I feel that this mode is great for rough ground where you want some extra help but don't want to be going too fast.

I have spent the last decade verifying the low mode of the Batribike.
I have circled the globe over three times now and I too have enjoyed lovely weather.
I am now an old man, my only hope is that my son can finish the course and test the battery to exhaustion.

hell yea this this is a lot
I feel one of a few things may be happing here
A) a brand new battery chemistry and i need to get a slice of that action.
B) physics is no longer being observed by ebike users.
C) on the medium setting is only granting 15 % decrease of your effort while cycling.
I am being a bit negative but this claim is quite incredible.

Further to my above post, there wouild be be no point in buying one to do these sort of ranges anyway.
At the tiny level of electrical power input used in covering 80 to 100 miles, the work the rider would have to do pedalling this 22 kilo bike is as much or greater than they would do if they rode a normal folder weighing about 11 or 12 kilos.
Therefore they might as well buy a normal one, do less work, save money and have an easy bike to carry when folded rather than a brutally heavy one to lug around.

Saint truth Flecc, loads of rubbish given. I agree that there is no point of having and carrying electric bike if you don't use assist almost at all.
Also they claim the battery will last 1000 cycles. Yeah right, if you discharge it at the rate of 0.1C then maybe yes it will last 1000 cycles.

I think these claims should be exposed as a matter of duty by the members, you by direct reply, I would always choose a tongue in cheek approach to perhaps stimulate debate.
The important issue is that the claims should be challenged and on that I think we both agree.

I say give em a chance to prove it. They might well be decent bikes but the title doesn`t begin with a W so they have no chance having said that 100mile range does seem a long way. Perhaps Sue will let me have one for a couple of weeks for a bit of video testing
