Battery charger query

i think my battery charger is on the way out, it makes funny noises sometimes.
Anyway it is a 54.6V / 1.6A charger with a 5.5/2.1 mm dc head connecter. Can't find any with a 1.6A output but plenty with a 2A, would it be ok to use a a 54.6V 2A charger instead ?

1.6a lends to a slower charge , typically 1.8a -2 a is pretty normal charge rate for chargers.
