Ive been swatting up on battery charging, including reading up Jerrysimons wonderful 23 page thread. But been wondering if I have one of these eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace do I charge up to the correct voltage for each bank of cells ie a 12volt bank or a 15 volt bank separately or is there another way of doing it?

Hello,
You need to explain exactly what you are trying to achieve. The eBay advert is a dedicated smart charger with it's own power supply. Meaning it pretty much charges most battery chemistries in the Market and usually up to 6 cells in series by means of balance charging.

There useful bits of kits even the lowered powered ones.

However tomproperly advise you we need to know exactly what you are trying to do.

I am after a general purpose charger, as for starters I have a unused powacycle lipo with no charger and would like to try and up grade some Izip packs. also have some other uses for batteries. The powacycle lipo charger is over £70 trade plus vat plus carriage, yes this is way is fiddly but far cheaper if it works?

I think you'd stugfle to use it to charge a lithium battery for an bike unless you could break the battery up. Wither way it will be difficult.

As a general charger it will work up to about 25v at a variable amperage.

The charger for the ebike will be a constant current constant voltage charger that will have a specified voltage for the ebike battery. You can get replacements from china direct at about £40
