Hi all,
hope you can help witha few questions
I have been offered a bike without charger or key for battery lock ( history known not stolen)
The level light works and the handlebar light (on/eco position) it can be pedaled about but motor does not cut in.
Can the battery pack that sits in the frame on these be replaced by taking the case apart or not.
It is also very tatty which is not a problem as I dont want to sell on, but never having worked on these motors am I letting myself in for a nightmare.
Is it worth bothering with for £50 plus £40 in fuel to collect.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can put my way.

If it's not working don't bother with it. Most failures are in the internal circuit board which is encapsulated and sealed in and with no spares available. In fact there never have been any internal spares for the motor unit. If it's not known whether it works or not because the battery is completely flat, again I'd say walk away. The battery cannot be charged while on the bike since the charge connector is hidden.

If it is a working bike, the battery can usually be prised out with a large screwdriver between the top of the battery case case on the right hand side and the frame tube, forcing it out to the left of the bike. There's enough flexibility in the case for that. Once out, the lock can be removed from the frame and replaced.

The battery can't be opened up while in the bike, the lowest screw is masked by the bike platform surround.
