Good evening
Really need some help/advice.
After seeking advice and seeing similar posts I decided to upgrade my 2024 Cube Reaction Pro 625 Bosch battery for a 750. Everyone indicated if the length of the downtube was the same all would be ok, several members had actually upgraded. I went to the supplier to purchase over the counter rather than trust a postage. I took my 625 with me and they checked and sold me the 750. All looked good but on coming to fit it in today I noted my socket for charging connector is dead centre on the 625 battery, but slightly offset to one side on the 750 making it incompatible, am I doing something wrong here as nobody mentioned this could be an issue. I had been told as long as your current ebike is post 2022 there would be no problem.

Thanks John

Welcome to proprietary bikes: different connector, differing orientation.

You took the 625 battery with you and presumably asked for a compatible 750 and they supplied this one. Clearly stating your intended application makes the retailer responsible for fitness for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act (it says here). There may be a disclaimer notice in the shop saying batteries can't be returned: IANAL but I don't think they can waive legal rights so you should be able to return it - if you're quick it'll be fairly obvious that this problem means it hasn't been used.
