Hi
I have a Prorider E-Wayfarer folding bike
This was purchased in late October 2014
It has never been on the road
When I received it battery indicator showed 2 led's
So per instructions I charged it for 12 hrs
Went to 3 led's as expected
Gave it a 2 hour charge end of Nov & Dec as per instructions
I went to give it 2hr charge this month but battery indicator showed no led's at all (dead)
So I plugged in charger it immediately showed 3 led's (don't know if that's relevant)
I plugged in charger after 18hrs charger was still showing red (supposed to turn green when charged)
I contacted support who told me they could not help as only way is to take bike on road and see how it performs
(Surely not)
Is there a procedure or device that can check battery or charger (charger is showing 42.1v on my voltmeter)
Thanks

Put your voltmeter on the battery terminals to get the battery voltage.. On some bikes, the charger will never go green if you charge with the bike switched on. On some batteries, the indicator LEDs only come on when the battery is switched on.

Hi
I could put meter on battery (but not sure what that will prove as no load)
Not sure what you mean "if you charge with bike switched on"
My indicator LEDs work with battery on or off
I think battery was switched on while charging (maybe that's a factor)
What I would like to do is run battery down to about 2 LEDs and see if I can get green light with battery switched off
If I prop up rear wheel and run motor to deplete battery do I risk damaging motor?
Thanks

Measuring the battery voltage at the terminals without load will tell you if it's charged. 41.5v - 42.0v = charged. Less than 41v = not charged.

Hi
Just got round to doing this
6 days since I posted
Pressed battery indicator dead no LEDs showing
Tried voltmeter but not sure whether probes are making contact
Will have to get a couple of paper clips to jam in sockets
