Hi,

I am in the process of buying some lights for bike and would like to know what users on this forum would recommend.

I do not know whether to choose cat eye lights or smart sets.

Also could somebody recommend a mulit tool as well, which will save me carrying my toolbox with me everywhere I go:D

Thanks

What do you want the bike lights for? If it's just to be seen I find Cateye work well and a £20 pair will be reliable. If you want to see where you are going then it's going to get expensive depending on how long you need the batteries to last. I haven't looked for a while but one of the best I saw before if you are on a budget is the P7 Lenser LED, I don't know if that torch is a good one as it came from Google but the LED type is incredibly bright. There are some long threads on here about pros and cons and whether LED is better than Halogen.

I got one of these multitools for a tenner and I have found it works very well and has put up with plenty of heavy use. You should work out what you need for your bike as they have different features and select a suitable one.

I'm a bit dubious about the reliability of anything wireless on my bike but that looks pretty good and much better than other indicator systems I've seen so far.
The bit that impressed me is the auto-stoplight. Red LED bank goes from flashing to solid when it detects deceleration. It'll also recharge your phone/iPod/PSP if its battery is running low, and similarly you can have it sitting next to your laptop charging at work before the ride home. Fitted one to my Pro Connect over the weekend and it works alright - mainly meant for twilight/evening cycling of course, I'd still use arm signals.

Thanks, I only really need the lights to be seen.

Tim, all I can say is wow those spooklights look good.I wish I had enough money to buy them, don't they come with a light at the front?

I am pretty sure the p7 torch is excellent, I have the police texh which is a lower model and that is good.
