Whilst looking for some larger diameter tyres for my new project to give me a slightly higher gearing. I stumbled on this.

Large Marge | Parts | Surly Bikes

So when you have your 'Large Marge' wheels, you are going to need some

'maximum traction and floatation' Endomorph 26 x 3.7 tires"

Which apparently are

Meaty beaty big and bouncy

Now i wished i'd waited before i laced up my bafang hub....the advertising has me hooked, as i'm a sucker for this stuff.

edit: wow....look,
you can get a Big Fat Larry 4.7" tire, the 100mm-wide Clown Shoe rim...it just gets better

Very good for snow and sand apparently and some folk like them for general off road riding. But you need a 'fatbike' frame and fork to accommodate that size tyre.

Wow they are amazing! I wonder what they are like to ride?
I can see the benefits on snow/soft ground but for road use there would be too much rolling resistance wouldn't there?
Looks fantastic though.

Rolling resistance should be low, for a given pressure wide tyres deform less. Tyres are usually narrow to reduce weight and high pressures to make up for being narrow.
