Bike service (Wisper)

Is there a recommendation for have a bike checked over? I have done somewhere around 700 miles. Do I need a service?

I did see someone called Dr Bike (a government funded position for Go-cycle in our town) who had a look at the bike recently - checked brakes, gears, tyres, wheels etc, but as he does mostly non-electric bikes, he left that well alone. Should I get a further service - if so where and how?

On a different note - feeling like I have not been dry for quite a while - cycle to work, get soaked, dry off, cycle home, get soaked, dry off, cycle in - you get the jist...

Personally I've found the electrics of my Wisper 100% reliable over my 1500 miles of use, and the only servicing I've needed to do has been on the standard mechanical aspects of the bike. I'd say if you don't have any issues with the electrics then there's nothing to be done, the most complex parts are the controler and the motor, and both of these are pretty much non-servicable anyway.

You shouldn't need a service that early Joanna, only gears adjustment sometimes necessary in the early stages if there's any trouble with gear changes.

Keep an eye on brake pad and rim wear over time, and if you detect lots of wear after a while, take it to any bike shop for new brake pads and a rim inspection.

Apart from that checking, as long as you occasionally oil the chain, you can normally run for around 3000 to 4000 miles before taking it in for a full bike service. No electrical attention is needed at that time, just normal bike adjustments and spares replacements.
