10,000 bookings with Brittany Ferries between 29 March and mid-May have been cancelled. Company says "this is to create additional ferry capacity for the transportation of critical goods (such as medicines) across the Channel”. Still Project Fear?

We'll just send the passengers and Vehicles by Air!........oh...

Brexit; the disaster that never stops surprising leavers, and disappointing remainers

Go on laugh, you leavers , after all if you can't take a joke what made you vote for Brexit?
You knew what you were voting for.

JUST IN: British shipping company P&O is re-flagging its entire UK-registered fleet to Cyprus ahead of #Brexit

However now for some reassuring words.
Don't panic that a company with real ships acts to mitigate damaging impact of BREXIT. Grayling appoints company with no ships to save us.

Notice to all UK registered businesses

Last one to leave please turn off the lights.

It makes sense. What is the problem with this?

Most ships are registered with a tin pot economy for convenience.

Its still a British company. Though why someone who hates the UK as much as you would care is a mystery.

Oh yes. Of course its a misery story. At least for you anyway....

Dyson to move company HQ to Singapore
CEO says far east relocation is more about ‘future-proofing’ business than anything to do with Brexit
It doesn't require a genius to see where this is going, does it?
If many more businesses start getting into the habit of "Future Proofing"
The "Present " simply collapse in ruin.
Business in this country is in the process of shutting down and "upping sticks"
But we can't keep saying that without being accused of "project fear"

the problem is they (P&O) may move their HQ and export profit made in the UK to Cyprus and pay CT there.
Same with Dyson. Their profit is exported to Singapore, a low tax country.

Well no. If you actually read the article and post the facts his spokesman says it's purely a business decision. Singapore charge 17% tax rate. He is currently being charged 19%.

Its nothing to do with brexit.

You want the capitalist game the EU play yet cry fail when someone plays their game.

Make your mind up you old goat.

To me, to hold a different view does not make you less patriotic.
OG is just as patriotic as you can find. If rich people move their businesses abroad, who pays taxes?

JC is going to put CT back where it used to be before the 2008 crash.
TM cuts CT first to the small companies rate then to match Singapore rate.

Guess what the rich business people think and do?
They think JC is going to win and they better move their profit.

Fascinating that someone who has voted to sabotage the future of the nation should accuse me, a person who wants to save it from your stupidity, of hating the country?

What on Earth possessed you to go for Brexit?
As far as I can see Brexit is nothing more than a fifth column attack by enemies of our nation, supported by the gullible and lets face it, stupid.
Which are you?
What is in "Brexit" for you?

It’s that sort of thing which really annoys me. Utter garbage republished by OG which fuels further mistrust and confuses the true issue.

Go , I'll buy it, what was the "Utter Garbage Republished which fuels mistrust and confuses the true issue"?

That I took issue with Fingers when he described me as Hating this country? or was it one of the provable facts I posted that didn't suit you?
Perhaps not, since you use the word Republished I take it you are unhappy with seeing more inconvenient facts exposed?

You really need to be more specific than just whingeing.

There goes another one
"Sony are abandoning their headquarters in the UK and setting up in Holland.
Why didn’t you say that the move is administrative and will not lead to job losses, staff or business function movement? You didn’t because you wanted to paint the picture as bleakly as possible, even if that involved lying by omission. Your posting typifies all that is wrong with the referendum situation. You are as bad, if not worse than Johnson, Gove and all the other twats who have led us into this situation. Start posting truthfully or FO and stop doing unnecessary damage.

I don’t mind facts, but what I don’t like is when you edit the full story to make it read more bleakly than it actually is. Your post regarding Sony is a typical example. You are lying by posting the information totally out of context. You do hate this country because you never pass up an opportunity to attack it, even if that requires lying.

Here is some into
Sky News obtains Border Force contingency presentation slide assuming a No Deal Brexit fall in cross Channel freight traffic of 75% to 87% for next 3-6 months as a “reasonable worst case”

A spokesperon for the Leave Campaign responded reassuringly

Nah, it's gonna be alright on the night , innit Guv? it's only them remainers in the Border Force and wot do they know?

Hmm I wonder just how great a capacity these warehouses we keep hearing about really have?

The Chancellor of the Exchequer's 'reasonable worst case' was that we would need a £30B emergency budget.

We all know what happened to that.

Instead employment in the UK hit a record 32.4m figures released today show (and contrary to popular opinion that it's all PT - we now have less part-time employed than Germany or the Netherlands).

She has more faith than do I:

No-deal Brexit is a Dad’s Army parody and I refuse to stockpile

Polly Toynbee

Plan B? No, just B for Back to Brussels to Beg a Better Backstop, not even Botoxing her old plan A. Theresa May does not surprise. Wild rumours that she might dash for another election or resign mid-crisis fooled no one. Why expect better? If she pretended to listen to flotillas of visitors imploring her to see sense, change course, stop the madness, then she wore earplugs. Of course nothing changed. However, she has every reason for intransigence, strapped to her pilot seat, clamped in irons. Move an inch on the customs union, soften a red line and she would haemorrhage Tory MPs, winning few from Labour. Kate Hoey may cavort at Jacob Rees-Mogg’s Bollinger bash at his home to celebrate May’s 230-vote defeat, but entices no fellow Labour MPs.

As the captive prime-minister-in-name-only runs the clock down closer to a nuclear no deal, how terrified should we be? Pay attention when her own business minister, Richard Harrington MP, warns that it would be such an “absolute disaster” that he would resign, warning of car industry collapse if supply chains were cut. Some cabinet ministers would walk, too, rather than take the blame for needless carnage. Every day brings more bad news: the International Air Transport Association warns that 5m sold airline tickets could be cancelled: no deal means no extra flights above last year’s quota.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jan/21/no-deal-brexit-dads-army-stockpile-parliament

As I've said a couple of times - Polly Toynbee is the LAST person to trust with the truth. Tim Worstall wrote an entire book dedicated to pointing out her lies:

Do not believe anything that woman says. Ever.

Think I, ll qualify that because I gave it a like.
Dont actually think OG hates the entire country , only the part that offered and then chose Brexit. OG will show everything in a light to back up his own opinions and thoughts to the expense of actual objectivity. In doing so it does appear he hates everything within country not linked or directed by his beloved EU, which he believes every positive aspect about and sees any negatives about EU as leaver/tory propoganda. He has bought into the EU publicity hook line and sinker. And before someone comes back and says EU does not use propoganda. Thats their cleverest aspect. Like the old adage. Cleverest thing the devil did was convince the world he does not exist. EU are very clever at putting over a caring, socialist, equal opportunities organisation. The truth is somewhat different. Convincing many on here of true nature of EU is impossible, even when the true facts are staring you in face. (eg study backgrounds, social standing, ethnicity, gender of all prominent figures within EU)
Read somewhere if you want to see true equal oppirtunity and diversity within EU examine those cleaning the EU buildings but not those running the departments wirhin them. It stinks.

I

I agree you dont bear grudges, neither do myself or OG fortunately but isnt this little spat between yourself and Tommie simply the nature of any prolonged disagreement, both parties think they are in the right and go to lengths to demonstrate the "fact". Always better to move on, there is always something new to argue over.
Maybe. Maybe not. If Flecc is convinced he is right (and I can see his case) - then I say go for it. But you gotta be careful in that sometimes your defence makes you look worse than just saying nothing and assuming the audience do in fact know what happened.

And sometimes it doesn't matter how much you shove the facts in somebody's face - they will ignore you and carry on insisting you're wrong. Watch Les Mis on BBC1 if you want to see that played out over and over.......

I've known plenty of people (OK mainly X-GFs) - who would rather die than admit they were wrong. In which case - sometimes - all you can do is lick your wounds and walk away.

But when you, ve gone for it... and gone for it.... and gone for it... Then what?? Phone a hitman?
I, m not suggesting either party admitt they are wrong... Agree to differ. Move on. Tommie hadnt really insulted anyone. They had differing interpretations of prices and reasons behind prices.. Time to forget it.. Have a beer, go sailing, watch football. Ww cant alter anything on here anyhow. We, ve all proved that, again and again. Not even opinions..
OG more or less called me a liar.. Cant alter his opinion... Just forget it.
