Just as we are told:

Electoral Commission says new Vote Leave investigation 'not in public interest'
Regulator’s position is ‘profound misstatement of law’, says barrister Jolyon Maugham

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/apr/01/electoral-commission-new-vote-leave-investigation-not-in-public-interest
The real reason was quite simple
"The commission subsequently announced that it had considered the allegations but would not be launching an investigation because it did not have sufficient evidence..

"Shades of the old "Time we had a Fire Boy!"
There's surely a moral there!
It is good to succeed by any means available
But if you are found out it is better to admit you were parked on double yellow lines while you were robbing the bank
You can always say you were too poor to mount a defence from the Cayman islands.

Yesterday went well ,we now have confirmation that the only person who knows what they actually want is Theresa May.

What a calamitous effort "Taking back control"turned out to be!

"England that was wont to conquer others
Hath made a conquest of itself"

For some reason the Express has fallen through the mirror into Alice in Wonderland territory
"EU PANIC: Varadkar, Merkel and Macron set for emergency Brexit talks"

Thank heavens we "British" don't panic or even expect parliament to actually make decisions.
Hence we have no need for "emergency talks"
Reassuring that

Want to bet who has just resigned?

Looks like May might be starting to drop some of her red lines. What do you think JC, will do? Is he likely to meet her or will he refuse on the grounds that Larry the Downing Street cat might be present and he suffers from catarrh.

Of course he'll meet her, but the problem might well be her intransigence, once again preventing her adding anything from anyone else to her deal.

JC will open by asking for Customs Union, and she will say no again. Where it goes from there is anyone's guess.

her backup strategy is to accept what parliament may come up with. That would suit both TM and JC as both can claim a degree of victory.
Parliament would go for either customs union or TM deal + confirmatory vote.
The best way out is a 3 question confirmatory vote. 3 choices: WTO, TM deal, remain. Voters can tick one or two boxes out of of 3.

What on earth! 7 hours and she's saying the same old, same old - deja vu

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47794673

"I'm offering to sit down with the Leader of the Opposition to try to agree a plan that we would both stick to, to ensure that we leave the European Union and that we do so with a deal.
"Any plan would have to agree the current withdrawal agreement.

"It is putting members of Parliament and everyone else under immense pressure and it is doing damage to my party our politics."

It sounds like throwing in the towel but I suspect that TM is up to some trickery.
As the withdrawal agreement cannot be opened how can the CU and SM be legally attached. What stops the ERG kicking out these deals from the political declaration once the WA has been approved?
She says that she will make any indicative votes legally binding but what will be the motions in those votes?
