Cheers for the heads up Jerry - I've taken a punt.

I found his thread in endless sphere - a newbie - driving it with 48v.

Anyone want to buy a 48v throttle:D

Looks like I will have to strip it down and check it out - change the cable to a plug/socket version, probably new bearings and see why he had it running backwards - I suspect he mounted it the wrong way round althought the phase and halls can be reversed once I can see the winding sequence of the internal coils.

Hehe, from the thread on endlessphere, it seems that he fitted the wheel on the wrong side lol (see the arrow on the hub)

Jerry, unfortunately I already have my super brompton. So no need to get a crystalyte 209. ;)

That's however quite a good price so maybe someone can be happy with this motor :)

That's what I thought! but can anyone be that daft......was arrow his handywork or on motor, why did he not just turn it around anyway. Bit noisy dont you think? also motor weight is near enough half of the bike.

Brand new G209 is only 250 euros....what am I missing? This motor sounds like it's dying, my G209 is virtually silent.

Hi Jerry,
Yes, I have purchased it, thanks again.
Benjy's posted the right link.

Did you mangage to get any of those cable boxes from Outrider - looks like I may be needing another one?

Benjy, I'm guessing he still has the halls out of phase and that is why it is making a racket, it's been driven by 48v and should be faster than the video, then again it could be totally fubar, a risk I am prepared to take.

I prefer the older design as you can take it apart easier - no longer available - and it appears it is about a year old going from the dates on the ES thread.

Ok cool, sounds like you know what you're doing :) Good luck with it, I'll be interested to follow how it goes! I'm going up to 48v on the G209 so it will be really good to compare.

You're right about it being easier to work on, if I have a problem with mine I will have to take the wheel apart

In his thread his initial motor firing order was a b c he swopped the phase and hall wires b and c, so it is now firing in a c b order.
I think he should have swopped phase and hall wires a and c to reverse the direction to c b a.
You have to do the same change for both the hall wires and the motor phase wires for it to work in reverse.
I want it to work in reverse, as that means the cable comes out on the rhs, avoiding having to use an extension block on the latching hook.

Is there any chance he could have damaged anything running it out of phase like that for so long? I guess any or all of it can be fixed/replaced if you know what you're doing.
