A while ago I started looking around for an ebike. In the end I decided to fix my rusty mtb instead and it was good while it lasted. However, after a couple of weeks I started having problems with my knees as the way back from work was a bit up hill. So I started looking around again and I feel 'drawn' to bikes with Brose motor.

Since I would prefer a trekking bike at around £2000 means Rotwild is not for me. There is nothing else on the market locally right now. In the Interview with D . Miall from AMPS published on this website he is indicating that they will offer 'a third brand that will be announced in a couple of months. It is a very different range from the bikes we currently sell and at the top of the range utilises the Brose motor.'

My gut feeling tells me that it will probably be BH which at the top of the range have bikes with price tag exceeding £3000. Unless someone heard some rumours maybe?

Anyway, as one would expect the choice on the continent is much wider and there are several bikes with Brose motor coming to the market which I would be quite happy with especially Flitzbike Traveller M http://www.flitzbike.de/summersale/ which is currently on sale for e2590, or Bulls Lacuba Trekking http://www.greenmover.de/product/lacuba-diamant/ with its generous 17Ah battery for e2899, or a range of bikes from E-bike Manufaktur http://www.ebike-manufaktur.com/de/index.php starting at e2799.

This means that Flitzbike costs more or less the same as KTM Macina Tour 10 Plus (Bosch performance - crossbar) which usually sells in Germany for about e2600. I am only mentioning this for comparison as I would prefer to buy locally in the UK.

I do realise that UK ebike market is tiny in comparison to Germany but I still find the choice here a bit disappointing. If someone was to import some of these bikes and adopt similar pricing policy as KTM which seems not to cost much more here than on the continent (unlike I am not going to say it Haibike!) I think they could carve a bit of the UK market to themselves. The question to dealers would be - are any of you chaps apart from AMPS going in this direction? I will wait a bit with my purchase anyway as I had some expenditures recently but if nothing else appears on the horizon I will probably go for KTM Macina Tour 10.
Sorry for the length of the post.

The Rotwild/Brose bikes can only be charged with the battery fixed to the bike.

I don't know if all Brose installations are the same, but not being able to remove the battery to charge it is a big limiting factor.
