Following Jerry Simon’s posts on building a small battery pack I followed the link to his supplier and ordered two of the A123 6S readymade packs
They took 13 days to arrive.

Marked as a gift - Could not read the value - no import duty to pay (hope).

Labeled as A123 Racing Systems, Not sure if this is true, I think they made up the packs themselves from A123 cells.
Very small at 80 x 80 x 50 mm
Fitted with Deans plug and Polyquest balance tap

Light as a feather at 1kg for both batteries - 2.3Ah 39.6V

So light you could put one in each pocket and ride away.

Will find out a power supply and start to charge them later

Edit - I have given up on the "A Cyclamatic Conundrum?" thread, it was far to dangerous for me.

Yay Herb :p

I just came home after not charging at work. Battery started to cut out at just under 1/4 a mile from home so 10 miles of usable batter power. If I wasn't so lazy and pedelled more I could easily make it last the last 1/4 of a mile

Voltage of each cell was 2.85v so 34.2v for both packs. I will update my battery thread.

Herb I would use a fuse in the 2 * 6s pack. Also what are you going to charge it with ? The cheap ebay one I showed showed in my thread seems to charge the tqo packs together well.

PS Re import duty if you are going to be charged you would have been charged. Ordering them in small quanities means you def won't pay import duty but having the ready made up is much easier for sure.

Jerry, I hate to admit but I also purchased the Turnigy Accucell 6.

I was thinking of disguising it with a tea cosy so you would not notice in the next photos.

I am just a copy cat.

But I hope others will also copy because this is a promising battery that very few other E-Bikers (if any) in this country are using.

I need to cobble up a series lead with the fuse carrier I have.

Herb,

Well the Turnigy Accucell 6 will enable you to balance them which is good, though I am hoping to show they don't need it and people if they want, can just use this cheap ebay charger.

Nearly everything I have done has been copying others, no shame in that :p

Jerry
