This article on BikeRadar suggests that low cadence (50rpm) leads to more stamina and not just because people are tired but then it says that 80-90rpm is the least stressful on muscles, I don't know if it makes sense or not but some may find it helpful.
I'm doubting the authors technical understanding with this part:
Technique: Cadence Matters - BikeRadar
I'm doubting the authors technical understanding with this part:
The numer of watts would be 200 no matter what the cadence, the number of Joules per revolution would change but not the number of Watts. Is the whole article patched together rubbish? At 200 Watts (around 20mph) if you spin 100rpm your strain works out at just two Watts per rev, whereas at 60rpm your strain is over three Watts per rev.
