I was wondering about fitting a 50T and its got a 44T and a 34-11 rear cassette 8 speed at the moment or will the chainguard be in the way?
will a 600 watt motor take it?
can anyone tell me the size difference from a 44t to a 48t and a 50t?
I should be able to cruise at 30 mph and top speed will be 37mph if it works:)

The increase to 48 teeth means it's diameter increases by 17 mm.

The increase to 50 teeth means it's diameter increases by 25 mm (almost 1 inch).

I was worried about the chainguard because it's awful close to the chain and no adjustment on it!
Hey if it doesn't fit I will sell it on not a massive investment there about £40 I think
I was also wondering if its possible to peddle with a 50T and a 11 on the back or do you need to be on steriods
or have legs like my sister? :)

I was thinking if it's a inch does that mean half an inch towards the chainguard
as the one inch would be from the dead centre surely?

Yes, half an inch towards the chainguard and half an inch downwards as well. Diameter is the whole span of the chainwheel.

Buy it an try it Steve!

You can pedel just don't think you'll have enough leg power to really contribute at that speed though.

I've got at 50T chainwheel and 11 on the back in the highest gear. With 26" wheels that works out at 118 gear inches. It's hard to push on anything but downhill - but it's fast - very fast, I can do 30mph.
I've changed it because it's too much - but if I do get a motor fitted I shall put it back on.
