Hello. I'm looking to buy an electric bike primarily for leisure use. I've been considering the Carrera Crossfire and Crossfuse but the Crosspath is on special offer at the moment. I went down to my local Halfords but they didntd have one to try. Only two reviews online. Just wondered if anybody has any experience of this bike or thoughts about the spec. Any other suggestions for a bike around the £1500 mark gratefully received.
Thanks.

HH66,

Welcome to the Pedelecs Forums.

I have no personal experience of the Crosspath e:

Have a look at more threads under “Which electric bike should I buy?” such as this one:

http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/advice-on-first-e-bike-purchace.32209/

Three important factors which affect the battery range are rider weight/fitness and hilly terrain.

I would recommend going for a battery with a high amp-hour (13ah minimum) rating and also choose hydraulic disc brakes.

The Oxygen S-Cross ST/CB/MTB and Woosh Big Bear LS are regularly recommended on these forums and are within your budget.

Note that the above use hub motors whereas the Crosspath has a central crank motor (Bosch Active Line).

Hub motor vs Crank motor:

All the Carrera bikes with hub drive use the Suntour Hesc system which is pants reliability wise.
If buying from Halfrauds buy the Bosch drive offerings
otherwise offerings from Oxygen, Wisper and Woosh are highly recommended not least for good price bikes but also the top notch CS you will receive.

Woosh and Wisper both should have better battery options with 500/600wh.
Wisper have dealers around the country however Woosh are in Southend or online only.
Oxygen's sell at a few outlets so would need to find one near to you.
