I got an old Carrera Vulcan (26" wheels, manual disc brakes, that I have now upgraded to hydraulic) and got a Bafang 48v rear hub conversion kit off Ali Express, pretty standard parts. I think the Yosepower kit uses similar style components so should be ok. There was enough room for the left hand side pedal assist to fit. All seemed pretty straightforward, had to get an adapter for the screws on the downtube battery plate.
You don't necessarily need the brake sensors but I did get 1 sensor for the hydraulic brakes, so when I change down gears coming up to a junction if I press the brake the pedal assist doesn't kick in the motor.
I changed the tyres for more road based tyres . I really enjoy it, usually go out for a ride in my lunch hour and use it for trips to the shops and rides at weekends.
The only thing I would change would be a controller that does "power" based pedal assist levels rather than "speed" based or I would quite like to try a torque sensor rather than PAS - think Woosh may have something coming available.
I think
@Cadence has some experiences of the Yose kit and particularly the "250w" Vs "350w", as I recall the 250w was lower geared, slightly better up hills but with a lower no load motor speed if you derestricted the motor assist and had a max controller current 15a cf 18a (540W vs 648W)
My niece (who is medical student) has asked to "borrow" my Claud Butler step through which I converted (which sounds like a good way of getting around campus !) I will have to give her strict instructions on battery care !! So I could do with a "road bike" as well as my Boardman 29er BBS02B...
