Just a bit of an update. My new spokes came in the post today, had to remove the wheel as the brake disc was really making things difficult, so had to remove that but all was pretty straightforward. Put the wheel back on and then tried to true it by eye (haven't got a spoke tensioner yet). Not 100% but pretty straight now and certainly a lot stronger.
Just need to bleed the brakes tomorrow but then it's quite a tidy bike.
Still not sure whether to keep it or sell on

Most brakes are self-bleeding. Just position it so the air goes uphill into the resevoir and pump the lever a few times. When the lever goes firm, you can add a bit more oil into the reservoir so that the air can't get into the pipe when you turn the bike upside down, but don't over-fill because the oil expands when it warms up. Without a bit of room to rxpand, it'll jam your brakes.

If you have a good ear you can pluck the spokes to gauge tension and try tightening the duller sounding ones.
