Chain?

Hi, please this is so annoying, I can pedal fine forwards but when I attempt back pedalling it locks up even with bike stood.

Freewheel or freehub pawls stuck ?
Take the chain off the gear cluster and see if it turns ACW by hand.

Just an update on my chain problem for people who offered advise.
I have learned how to index the gears and after much adjustment this solved my chain issues. Quite satisfying really very chuffed with myself. Thanks for the help as always
