Charge Skewer titanium build

Hi all

I've been gifted by my rather awesome brother a Charge Titanium frame (ultimate tange), its raw and appears to be a Skewer from. my research but is unmarked.

It looks take 700c wheels, 68mm bb and 1 1/8 head.

It will be all year round commuter

Anyway I'm thinking
alfine 8 in 700c from my current commuter.
And a gsm kit with external controller
And disc compatible fork as the frame will only take calipers on the rear.

I have a suitable on one 700c hybrid fork and matching wheel with centrlock disc( removed from current bike years ago to add surly 29er mtb fork to take chunky BMP)Just depends wether it fits the headset (possibly cut too short)

I'd like to keep weigh down, sticking my bpm, massive steel forkand BPM with my 16ah battery seems criminal thing to do

. I'll run it with lightweight lipo which I have already , 8ah should be plenty for my 15mile round trip commute

Any other ideas or options I should look at ?

I am in no rush to build but no money either , no vivax assist suggestions please !

Go for a complete light-weight build. Forks something like this:

and lightweight everything else.

Then add a 201 rpm Q100Cst motor and run it at 48v or 12S. An S06S controller would be perfect, but they don't like 12S. maybe a KU65 then with three PAS levels. You would then have a bike about 13 to 14kg, which would be a blast. Max speed would be about 23 mph at 12S.

You have a point here , a mid drive is overkill for my commute which is flat

I can't give up the alfine, I just love it too much though... But then a front q100 needs beefier forks

Update - bike is built using mostly components from a Triban 5 (excellent reviews online) slightly upgraded parts (now a mix of shimano tiagra and sora rather than just Sora). Carbon fork

Im very pleased with the all black looks against the raw Ti frame

No electrics for now though. Both money and my mindset are against it ......for now. It's just too beautiful and pure a machine.

That's nice. My roadbike is also titanium and carbon fibre. The moment I saw it, I had to have it. There's something about titanium that's very attractive.

This isn't mine. It's the same model, and nearly identical. Like this one, mine's been upgraded with carbon firbre shifters, bars, stem and seat-pin. It weighs about 8kg:

Very nice d8veh! I have plenty of upgrades to do then (post, stem, bars are alloy right now) plus that's a knackered old saddle I've got

Carbon stays on yours too I see.

If you mean the Litespeed, I know. That's why I had to buy it. How could any sane person with (or without) £850 in their pocket, see it for sale, and walk on by?

I do mean the Litespeed . . Bloody bargain!

The Litespeed is almost too good to use it needs hanging on the wall or if you must use treat it to a Vivax assist
