Before rushing out and buying that, do your research. I'm not sure, but I think it works by pinging any phone in range that has the specific application installed, which would only be phones belonging to people that bought it. You can find it when it's close to your own phone, but once out of range, which isn't far (100ft if lucky), the chance of it pinging anyone would not be high.

If you know that all your friends, family and colleagues have Trackr on their phone already, go ahead and buy it.

Good question. You only have to ask 100 friends or colleagues if they have Trakr in their phone to see what the chance is of getting a ping. My guess: zero. It's a shame because it's a good idea, but will only work if enough people get it.
