Clicking sound from bottom crank on wisper

Hi...I'm getting a clicking sound from my Wisper, I think it's from bottom crank.
One "click/grind" for each revolution. does it need some grease in the bearing ?....can I replace the bearing ?

At a guess it''s either a crank needs tightening or the BB needs servicing, if it's the crank do it quickly or it will need replacing.
Hold each crank and see if there is extra movement, the problem should be quite clear. Niether is difficult to fix but the cup and cone BB is a PITA, fortunately removed on later models.

Hi Mussels...there is no spare movement....does BB stand for bottom bracket ?

BB is bottom bracket, PITA is "Pain in the arse" and 'cup and cone' is an old type of bottom bracket that isn't popular now(still common on wheel bearings).
If you can feel no movement at all then I'd guess the crank has come slightly loose, you'll need a thin wall socket to tighten it or a bike shop can do it in 30 seconds. If it's not moving it will be OK still. If you need a tool then a cheap crank puller will cost about a fiver and you use a normal spanner to turn it.
I don't quite know what you have as the design has changed a fair bit recently, if not the above it could be a loose chainring or loose chainguard but I doubt it.

....Looking at the left hand side...a thin 3mm locking nut...needs a special key or can be tapped with a screwdiver and hammer to remove.
If that were removed there's a nut with 2 extrusions that appears to screw into the frame and could be removed useing a flat blade on either side of each extrusion.
There is no play at all on the cranks...everything looks normal.

That's the BB, if it was loose then you would feel play in both pedals. Slight play isn't unusual.
Your cranks will have black dust caps in the middle of the spindle, under those are the crank nuts (I don't know what they are called). A clicking once every rotation has for me been a warning sign that it is starting to come loose. There's some strange physics going on under there and the nut can tighten and loosen itself, the problem happens when the square taper starts to come loose and you need to tighten the nut to sighten it up.
A grinding feeling is more likely to be the BB bearings, I get it when the cage (that holds the balls) disintigrates and jams in the workings.
So I'm confused and I don't know what type of BB you have so Norman is the best bet.

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem, Norman talked me through sorting it out, I just dissasembled it cleaned the bearings, greased them put it all back and tightened up and the problem was sorted.
