Colchester ... CCTV does not work in the dark

Don't always assume that CCTV will protect your bike when parked up esp with clocks going forward if this story about problems with my local Council CCTV is prevalent with other town Councils...

It is not the first time the council has come in for criticism regarding CCTV.

Earlier this year Colchester Council chief executive admitted “five or six” cameras in the town “are not as good as they could be”.

They need to fit Sony starvis these only need to be a min 2 mp full colour under very low light motorised zoom vari domes start under £100.00 anything over 4mp is just a hard disc filler and a sales bonus
Most important is the staff to actually watch it live or at least record all the cameras that work or make sure the PTZ point the right way and switch the street lights back on

CCTV itself cannot protect anything unless its really visible, and if really visible then steps can be taken to circumvent it.
